We are back!

Hi everyone!

Our trip was beyond wonderful and I apologize for not keeping up with the blog. It was just too hard! If you have facebook, you saw me andif you don't, have one of your kids bring up blanca portella les heil and checkout the photo albums. I swear, there must be over a hundred!

Drove from Poland down to Greece and back. It was so much fun. Croatia was the most unexpectedly beautiful country and Greece was my bucket list item since forever, wow. Since the car broke down in Athens and we had to wait for the part to arrive, Les took us to Istanbul, Turkey.

Beautiful country with beautiful crafts.

Still adjusting to time here in Baja - we are in La Paz for a few days to see doctors and unwind. It is so HOT, the only place to be is in the A/C!

Lots of good news, the scholarship kids are doing well. The 3 freshmen are so happy! What a relief, the first semester can be kind of hard. These kids are just took it all in stride. Very proud of them.

Anyways, glad to be back! I missed the bantering here

Such an amazing trip!....Don't do the FB thing, amazing you did the blog as long as you did.

Seems some folks go on an amazing trip like yours to 'report' it when they really should be living it, like you did.

How about some sharing some of the experiences as posts?

Good to see it all ended well and you are home.

I really do want to share some of the stories but I had to upgrade to windows 10 while in Poland and now I need help with downloading photos so I can resize them.

It is wonderful to be home!

Since you drove through Croatia to Greece I imagine you took the coastal route along the Adriatic. Did you stop at my home town Tivat? They say it’s unrecognizable now after all the development that took place.

I wish I had known about Tivet! One of my favorite adventures was in Kotor. I left Les at a restaurant (read beer) and climbed up and up to the fort. All I took was my ipad to take photos. 2/3 of the way up, as I am truly huffing and puffing, there is a young guy who says I have to pay to go up. I looked at him and said I don't have any money but I am an old lady and I want to go all the way up. He waved me on. Once at the top, I took the funniest video, still huffing and puffing!

The view was spectacular.

Montenegro is so beautiful.

You should go there for your vacation!

Folks my age (at least I do) hear Croatia and Montenegro and think about the terrible conflict there in the early to mid 1990's.

So glad to here that it is beautiful and (hopefully) peaceful.

In America you would have to pay or turn around!

Glad the rest of the world is not like us!

Be prepared to be overwhelmed in Instanbul. The mosques are so huge and gorgeous.

We heard the beaches further south are amazing, we didn't go.
