Pic just looks like bad place to park. You would track mud getting into car. Parking on a slope just makes the door open/closing awkward due to extra weight against hinges.

Or does the setting / car location have aesthetic property or meaning i am missing?

Seriously, i need clarification.

I didn't step in any mud (sand & gravel there). I didn't even get wet. I don't think I knew my back tire was still in the creek when I stopped to take a photo. I like seeing water in the desert. Water is life and a photo showing a cardón with a stream that one can drive to was my objective.

I have two, but only one is going this fall. Our Saurer 6dm, a Swiss-built military truck with a German Army box converted into living quarters. Also have a built 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, lift, lockers, bit tires, etc. Would like to take both, but, have electric bikes and a boat for toys this time.

My current ride (Tacoma), and the unkillable Tercel in Guatemala near the border with Belize in '95. Ok, I killed the tires and shocks. I'd just blasted though a very deep and long mudlbog that had a large stake-bed delivery truck stuck to the frame. Wipers & 4wd on, hit it floored at 55, much to the amusement of the crowd. I blew out one of the plugs in the sidewalls. We put tubes in a couple of the most punctured/patched tires right after this. The Tacoma has Tundra front brakes, steel braided lines, heavier front springs and 3 leaves added in the rear.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saurer_6DM

The Saurer 6DM is a heavy truck manufactured by Adolph Saurer AG.

The name 6DM reflects its 6 tonne payload. The two-axle vehicle has a power output of 250 hp.

The vehicles are equipped with Saurer six-cylinder engines and turbochargers are connected via a semi-automatic transmission. Some units are equipped with a winch, which costs 60 liters of fuel capacity.

The 6DM and 10DM were the first military vehicles of the Swiss Army, which went into operation with NATO structure. The most widespread are flatbeds with tarp for troops and supplies, but they also serve as fire engines for military airfields. The firefighting version includes the special F/A-18C Maquette device. It also serves as a crane truck and as container transporter for the operating components for TAFLIR (tactical aircraft radar). As these trucks reach the end of their useful life they are replaced by trucks from Iveco.

My f-150 is a more comfy ride. That thing looks like it would give me a sore back and kidneys on baja potholed roads! I that thing would require driver and pax to wear hearing protection!

Saw one of those on a baja washboard road last year. They were doing 4 mph to avoid dental damage

Hey DP you need to either get a more HD truck or change your suspension! That looks dangerous!

That's what I was thinking…. airbags maybe for that tongue weight? Nice rides, though!

Yeah, it's a little squishy, but it towed surprisingly well. I do tow it with respect though. It was a one shot deal with that load.
