Mag Bay/Isla Magdalena???

Has anybody driven out on Isla Magdalena to Punta Belcher? The Almanac shows a road coming in from Insurgentes crossing over the estero and on to the isla. Thanks for any info.

"Isla" Magdalena is an Island. I have a map that seems to indicate a road across, but no. I have been fishing the area
for 15 years. The locals take cars across on boats.
I can probably help arrange that. I am building a house in San Carlos and can arrange most anything...

They ferry cars over at Lopez Mateo's. Mag Bay Outfitters has (or had) cabins for rent on the island. My son was a friend of the owner's son and they would drive way down to the cabins for maintenance.

Why does this sound like code for some nefarious activities?

Here's a pic of Mag Bay Outfitter's fish camp at Bahia Santa Maria. It is truly a beautiful setting. I never stayed there but have visited there and spent many nights at anchor between the MBO camp and Mag Bay Tours surf camp at the mouth of the bay.

Thanks Bill,
Bob Hoyt has worked on the project for many years. He and Diane were down the street neighbors of mine in Oceanside and their son (Robert) and my son were close friends... that is how my son came to work one season with them.
Small world.

Here is Robert in 2011 off Magdalena Bay:
