Selling our cabin in Camp Gecko

Over the last 13 years, my wife and I have slowly taken one of the 'fancy cabins' and turned it into a nice little fish shack. Camp Gecko is 4 miles
south of the town, easily found on Google Earth.
Large 15'X22' front room with screened, crank out windows on three sides to let the afternoon breezes in, fully furnished kitchen, one bed room and
one small bath. There is a 10'X22' covered front porch, a 8'X22' back porch and a 11'X22' upper deck with an unobstructed view of the water and
desert. Two storage rooms and an small side storage that houses the hot water heater & water pump. Off the grid with 400 watt solar and Exede
internet. The is no garage, but room for single pull-thru type could be built.
Particulars:
• $20,000.00 dollars asking price
• Annual lease of $1800. This is nearly the cost of boat storage in So Cal, which many of us do in camp. 3 years left on the lease, each lease is
for 5 years. Buyer must be approved by the owner who also keeps a home in camp and is often there.
• Fully furnished, ready to occupy but rustic in nature.
Electrical System
• 2 - 195 watt panels
• 1- Xantrex C60 charge controller
• 4 - 105 Amp AGM batteries (18 months old)
• 1 - Xantrex 1500 watt inverter/Charger
• Small power center w/ 15 amp breakers (Square D)
• 1 - TriMetric meter #2020
Water System
• Two storage tanks, 450 and 1100 liters each. When full, 2-3 people can go two weeks. Water trucks are readily available in town.
• SureFlow Whisper King 12v pump, wired to battery bank. (Two spare pumps on hand)
• 10 gallon water heater, piped to all facets/shower. 3 years old, should be about 7 years left.
Kitchen
• 3 burner RV style stove with oven, Wedgewood Vision, 3 years old.
• 8 CF older RV propane refer/freezer. Dometic and was rebuilt in California when we got it.
• Black & Decker Blender
• Vacuum sealer for preserving your catch
• 5 gallon water stand (drinking water is available in town)
• Braun drip coffee maker and 2 french press.
• Coffee bean grinder.
• All kitchen utensils, glasses, plates, pots/pans, knives etc.
Bedroom
• Two 6" Memory foam twin beds, brand new with frames. Easy to carry upstairs where we always sleep from April to November. Both beds will fit in
the bedroom as well.
Living room
• 4 chair dining table
• Rocking chair
• Large couch (can be used as additional bed, done it many times)
• Twin futon chair (used as bed before we got the foam beds)
Outdoor
• 10'X10' E-Z-Up for upstair deck
• Chairs and tables for deck
• Weber 22" kettle and Brinkman charcoal smoker
• Mops, brooms, rakes, shovels, and similar equipment all there.

Wow, a long time at Camp Gecko...
Many other Nomads (many don't post anymore or are no longer on this earth) have or had places there, too. Bedman, Debra, Georock, 4baja, some others
named Steve or Bob...

The view from the front porch must be phenomenal. That's a very reasonable price.

The view from the lower floor is obstructed by the units in the beech row, this cabin is in the 2nd row so the upper deck is where the view is nice.

Place looks very cool, love that area! You must have some good stories that have happened over the years to share? Might help with the sale too? I
know that campo has been around for a while.

That was once one of Doc's rental cabins when Camp Gecko was a place for camping.
You can see one here on my New Years' 2005 trip when Elizabeth and I stayed there 2 nights...

No questions left to ask....good job, I'm in love, the only thing you forgot is that you are close to the best spot on the bay for someone who loves
to fish from the beach!!
A ATV would be a must have for a nice morning or evening run down to the boca at the estro, high or outgoing tide the best...….afew years ago

Anyone can catch fish in a boat but only \"El Pescador Grande\" can get them from the beach.
I hope when my time comes the old man will let me bring my rod and the water will be warm and clear.

If I got this right, it is at the south end of Bahia de Los Angeles.

Yeah I seen that it’s 2019 but October of 2019 , so fairly recent , some houses stay on the market forever.. this is right down the beach from a
buddy’s house, so I would to know 1) if it’s sold 2) if it’s not sold , can we get updated photos... I would love to make a trip to see it but
with this COVID-19 situation, I don’t think I’ll make it there this summer or possibly year..

of your maps at for future trips?

I finished the guide long ago! I did update the completion of Hwy. 5 part (with thanks to Nomad geoffff and others for the kilometer markers in the
final section).
Covid-19 has killed the printing of the guide (for now)... as all extra expenses had to put on hold with business nearly crashed for Mexican auto
insurance companies. It was to have been introduced before now.
You can still see a lot of it (pre-publication edition) here on Baja Nomad in the Road Conditions forum. San Quintín to Guerrero Negro (including
side trips) and Guerrero Negro to San Ignacio (plus all the side roads between those two).
