Roger Silliman of the Hotel Villa Bahia (L.A. Bay) is gone.

I just learned this morning of the passing of Roger of the Villa Bahia in L.A. Bay.

His Facebook page announced it, too: https://www.facebook.com/roger.silliman

Roger published Herman Hill's gold prospecting stories and did a second edition with added chapters...

Graham Mackintosh had used Roger's hotel as a base to explore Isla Angel de la Guarda for his book, 'Marooned with very little Beer'.

I stayed ar Roger's hotel once during my road guide research in 2017.

He enjoyed the history of the peninsula... and now he is part of that history.

Sad indeed..Roger was a nice and interesting man. We happened to be staying at Los Vientos last weekend when he passed. It was in his sleep and just where he wanted to be. Roger has fixed up his resort in the last several months..refurbished several rooms, added electricity and a third story deck...All that is good but it will never be the same without him...…....

Mexico!! Where two can live as cheaply as one.....but it costs twice as much.....
