OK, I've tried fat-tire e-biking in Baja on my past couple trips. It's super fun, but I always get cactus punctures. So frustrating. Yes, I'm running
tuffy-strips.
That would be a tricycle

Neat idea. Electric fat tire bike (or trike with the two wheels in the front) I doubt the claim it could do 40 miles off road on a single charge.
I wonder if anyone ever tried putting fat tires on a moped

I don't think you will find an American made ebike of any kind. Trek and Specialized might be US based companies but everything is made in Asia. You

Way overkill in my mind. My 500 watt battery is more than sufficient to do what I do, considering 80 or 90% of the time I ride in Eco Mode and
occasionly Tour. I rarely get up to Sport mode and into Turbo only on the steepest hills, and it shoots up them. There is plenty of power for me,
and I'm still only down 2 bars at the end of my ride.
Marketing will always want to convince you to get more HP. Two front tires means more flats, and probably bad handling. Why not just get a 4" tire
model?
Your right about Trek and Specialized being made overseas. American companies have been way behind the curve on E bikes.

This thread brought me out after 2 years of not posting.
I ebike 5-6 days a week as the weather allows.
First bike is a Haibike FatSeven S Pro, now has 2000 miles.
Second bike is a Raleigh Magnus iE Fat Tire just under 1000 miles.
Both powered by Bosch and interchangeable battery systems.
Bought both for less than one of these Bafang powered bikes.
Medical situations took my skiing away and limited my Adventure Moto rides.
But ebikes have saved my bacon, MMMMMM I like bacon.
And I haven't gained a pound due to these workouts and rides.
Regular mountain bike rides were 4-6 miles, now I go 15-25 and riding big altitude changes.
My favorite ride is up my adjacent canyon, 11 miles to the top and 1500 ft of elevation.
Another shorter ride is 1300 feet of gain over 5 miles.
Best toys I own for now and I still have 5 Motos.
