Sea of Cortez in a Windrider 17
Just finished a two week trip in my Windrider17 trimaran. Had some great sailing but we ran into a tropical storm that resulted in some serious rain
and lightning. Even with that we had a blast.
I would like to thank Nomad “Howard” for helping us out in Loreto. I owe you Howard. Next time your on Vancouver Island, look me up.

Is the windrider light enough for 2 people to haul it up on the beach at night?
Or do you anchor it overnight?
Plastic or fiberglass hull?

It is a roto-mold plastic boat. When we land on the beach, we unload all the gear first then pull it up on the beach. I roll it on four 2” PVC
pipe sections. They act as skids or rollers depending on how hard the beach is. Two men can pull it up no problems but it is difficult for my wife
and I to do. I will get a winch setup for next year with some sort of deadman anchor. My wife will be a lot happier then.

One of the best adventure reports I've seen on here. Nothing like those Cortez sunrises when you're on the water. Still remember my first at Bay of
LA nearly 40 years ago. Great video.

My Windrider 17
Hi Chuck. Great Video you guys. At young age of 73 bought my first boat, a Windrider 17. Brought it down 8mo ago as I’m building retirement casa
near Todos Santos. My Mexican friend, Antonio, who also has a WR17 has been giving me sailing lessons in La Paz where I keep the boat pulled up on the
beach at a tiny marina there for $80US a month. Plan on doing your trip this summer with Antonio. Thanks for posting. Mikey
