I know we have discussed this ad nauseum but I am looking for an easy way to resize my photos.

Please advise if you have a tip for a free, simple solution.

Gracias in advance!

Hi Blanca, I did see your u2u and replied.

For everyone, the following is the top post in the Baja Photo & Video Gallery on Nomad:

June 2019 Update:

To post photos from your Pictures folder on your computer...

Go to www.Postimages.org, make an album if you want to organize your photos to find them easily in the future (by date or by subject). No cost to use Postimages.org.

Change the upload setting from "Do not resize my image" to 640x480 (recommended for forums) or 800x600 (max. on Nomad). You click on the little arrow to see the size choices.

Click "Choose images" and select the photos you want to put on Nomad from your Pictures folder.

Click on the image you want on Nomad and click on "Share" at the top of the screen.

Choose "Hotlinks for forums" (down next to the last one). You can click the little box at the right end of the link and it is now saved on your mouse.

Go to Nomad and paste that link onto the place where you are typing on Nomad. You can put text in below the photo for a caption or your post and if you double space between photo links (for clarity), you can put several photos and captions in a single post on Nomad. You can click "Preview" on Nomad to check and see how it will look before posting to the board.

If you need to fix a post after it is done, click on "Edit" along the edge of your post, and change or delete your post. If you edit more than once, you can delete the previous Edited on tags so only one edit tag will appear after you edit the post.

I have NO problems posting photos or copy and pasting photos on other sites...

It is actually not hard at all... I just add details as some need that.
1) Go to postimages.org
2) Change the upload size to 800 pixels or less.
3) Upload images you want to share on Nomad.
4) Copy and paste the IMG tag images on Nomad.

Yes, there are forums (and Facebook) that have built in size limiters so you don't need to do any work... Nomad is not one of them. I have talked with Doug about this...

If your operating system is Windows, try the "Paint" application. I have a Chromebook and I simply click the photo from the file manager, an image viewer opens that has an "edit" option that includes resizing. I think all operating systems come with a simple photo editor.

What operating system are you using?

If you do this method, first make a copy of the photo and edit that so the original is saved before you mess it up by resizing the original file.

You just save the edited file using another filename.

To resize, use MS Paint, or Photos. I prefer MS Office Picture Manager, it's not available in Windows 10 but can be easily added.

Resize for what purpose? If it is to hotlink them on Baja Nomad, that is super simple.

[img=800x] link to photo [/img]

The "=800x" displays it as 800 pixels.

This isn't the best way to do it.

Especially if you post on other message boards that handle photos in a more advanced way.

If you are trying to resize pictures using windows 10 it can be done
Despite windows attempts to morph into android it is still DOS.
Only all the screens and the command names have changed.

first save picture into "pictures" (formerly my pictures)
Click on little flag icon (formerly start)
scroll down "apps" (formerly programs)
click on photos. From there click on the photo you are resizing.
If you can see it you are almost done!
click folders, then click three little dots, (or left click)
select "resize, "small" and save.
important: Rename picture same with "small at end" to later search for it if you can not find it, TikiGod , TikiGodsmall.
from there your picture should be resized and able to post
this is for jpg on a png even "small" may exceed 250 mb limit
good luck!
here are two test pics, one a jpg and another a png screen grab from a JZ video the Tiki God
can you guess where they are?

desert small.JPG - 36kB Capture Tiki God small 3.PNG - 305kB

Thanks everyone! One of these WILL work. It took me an hour just now to open bajanomad (our connection here is awful), so I will try loading resized photos at 4 am - seems to be magic time then.

My wish is indeed to use the windows 10 version but when trying to do this before, it was turning all my photos sideways...for the life of me, I could not get it to appear normally on bajanomad.

Thanks again!

PostImages.org has automatic resizing. Just click the box that says: "Do not resize..." to "800 x ..." for a full Nomad photo or "640 x ..." for a standard forum large image.
