kayaks and more

2 questions actually. 1] We are hauling 2, 10 ft kayaks to The Bay of La. in the 6 foot bed of my truck..do I need red flags on the ends as they stick out about 4 ft. I know we will be a magnet for police so it would be nice to know..And #2} looking for 1/2 day boats for whale shark visiting...hopefully with contact info..We will be a Los Vientos the 2nd week of Oct.
Gracias for any info.....

If you need flags in the U.S. (sounds like you do if at 4 ft.), expect the same down south no matter how many times you saw local drivers don't add a flag to their long loads.

I got pulled over in Ensenada for pulling a broken VW with a tow strap... after pulling my friend from San Felipe with my Subaru. No ticket, but we bought the cops "a nice lunch" (lol)!

Don’t know the specifics of the law in Baja, but when I haul kayaks in Mexico, I do same as required in USA, and use a flag if overhang is 4 ft or more.

Heck, I usually use a flag even if overhang is 3 ft, never hurts to attach the flag, it takes maybe 10 seconds effort.

Ricardo 52 646 160 0671
To get to los viento you have to drive past ricardo's location. We used them a few weeks ago for whale, diving and fishing trips. Great group. If you choose to use someone else make sure their licensed for the whales. I saw a boat come out with a family and when they got in the water our captain started talking with the other pangero captain and he called his group back to the boat because they didnt have the proper license. Second day out a patrol boat actually came out checking who was out there. Unless your kayaks are special los vientos have plenty of kayaks on the beach that would save hauling yours.
