Pre-Sales for my buddies Loreto campground!

Not sure if this is the right section, I am helping my friend do some pre-sales for his campground and made this post on my facebook, figured I would share it here as well

Howdy friends, I am going to do something here that I have never before done on this page in our 10+ years of posting. Hit you guys up for some money !! But its not for me and its not a donation. Stay tuned.

When we first arrived to Loreto, Baja Sur our plans were to only stay a few days and continue on our journey down to La Paz, but on our first night we stayed at a nice little campground and it was there that we met Alberto.

Alberto was the first person we ever met here in town, his family owns and operates @Romanitas RV Park, a beautiful shady campground located in the heart of downtown Loreto, literally a stones throw from both the Zocalo town square and the sea. It is the best camping location in town by far.

Alberto and I became fast friends and he is still one of my best friends here in town today. A heart of gold and great work ethic. Meeting him and his family changed the course of our lives and is one of the reasons we are still in Loreto today!

Unfortunately, as you guys may have noticed, the tourism industry has been absolutely decimated here in Baja (and the rest of the world). My friends campground was shutdown for months at the peak of high season due to COVID-19, it has finally been allowed to re-open now but with the border still shut to non-essential travelers there has been zero traffic to his place. Sadly the beautiful campground lies dormant with no money coming in.

Not to be discouraged Alberto has started a few side hustles to help support his family, selling fish, dates, palm fronds, whatever he can to keep his family fed, he has a new baby on the way now and is getting concerned about paying for the medical bills and all the items that come with that.

We were brainstorming the other night and we thought of an idea to bring him in some much needed cash. Why don't we take pre-sales for your campground? We KNOW people will be returning to Baja soon, and we KNOW you have the best spot around! So lets offer people the chance to reserve their spot right now ahead of time for 50% of the normal price!

Normally Beto offers full hook-ups at his campground for $ 20 a night, but we are going to be offering them at $ 10 a night for pre-sales! $ 10 !! Its basically free!

He does not have paypal or any of that so I will be handling that side of things for him, basically you can send me $ 10 or $ 20 or how ever many nights you would like to stay in the future and I will put your name down on the list. Once things open back up and you are coming down, just let us know and we will make sure we have your spot reserved and available for you! Alberto is also going to start offering island tours and fishing tours so you will get great discounts on those as well!

This is my paypal link - https://paypal.me/JHart101

I really appreciate you guys support on this and I know Alberto and his family will as well. Feel free to share with your friends, its a killer deal in the best location in Baja !!

Plus Ill buy you a beer when you get to town and Lauren and I will regale you with tales from the road, thats worth the price of admission alone!

10 bucks a night with hook-ups is a good deal.

I would not need an RV hook up, but that is a good deal even for a dry camp!

I looked at the website that DK provided the link for, and did not find any information about being dog friendly or not. I have a large, sometimes excitable dog that I would not let run loose, but she sure isn't a quiet little lap dog!

If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

"Could do better if he tried!" Report card comments from most of my grade school teachers. Sadly, still true!

I live here in Loreto and run a small hotel here. Alberto is a great guy, and a good freind. He really needs all the help he can get. Like most small businesses in Loreto, Beto is just barely getting by. This a great deal for a worthy cause.

By no means is this an insinuation that either party are irresponsible. It is really a bad idea to commingle funds, through 3rd party accounts. There are tax implications and legal responsibility issues.

Alberto should have a bank account that can receive funds, or use some method tp receive the funds in his name like Western Union, or, Defrag should have an active RFC to do business on his own in Mexico and manage the contracts, funds, taxes and responsibility.

Great idea.... How far in advance can one pay for a spot, 1-2 years? I've seen youtube videos of the place and have it on my list of places to stay but I'm looking at twoish years before the next trip.
Also are you sending some kind of email back confirming payment and amount of days paid for? Small risk for a good return on your dollar and your helping out a family!

Hi friends, just wanted to give an update, you guys are amazing !! in less than 3 days we were able to pre-sale over 177 nights !! Bringing in more than $ 2000 to help our friend and his family.

He came by today to say thank you for everything and says he feels like it is the first time he can breathe in months. What a great response, again thank you so much for your help !!
