San Felipe, Baja may be a sleepy village, but one sure can have a lot of fun!. You just need to plan ahead. The wide open spaces provide lots of
opportunity for some outdoor fun and great memories.

The list of things to do in San Felipe is a list of things you can do on most any beach, and many you can do in your own backyard.
And there are 10 million better beaches in the world compared to San Felipe.
One thing San Felipe has that many beaches don’t have: brown, cloudy (high TSS) water.

The "new Nomad" registered in 2011. I was going to mention the restrictions on clamming, but you beat me to it while I was still reading. I wouldn't
delete information that could save someone from potential trouble!

It may be illegal but I doubt anyone is going to arrest you or give you a ticket. We were camping at El Pabellon south of San Quintin and the guy
running the campground gave us rakes and shovels to clam with. This was several years ago so things may have changed.
The best thing about San Felipe is the fish tacos,the Miramar bar and all the places to explore.

TMW is so right! The fish tacos are legendary.
I only went once, probably in 87ish and we ate SO MANY fish tacos. At the time they were 3 for one buck!
I remember wading out and out and out because the water was so shallow.
I remember Brazilian music blaring on outside speakers - it was when lambada hit the scene.
I also remember we got margarita's somewhere...really good ones.
I also recall the drive over from 1 was so desolate...we did not know how long a ride it was and did not have water or food. Ahhhh, the innocence of
youth!

What a cool web site! Looks like the town definitely changed from when I went! I think there was one smallish hotel in town and that was all we saw.
So many activities now. Congrats of promoting your neck of the woods!! Made me want to go!

San Felipe for me is a place for fuel and fish tacos, then we are on our way south of there. I have seen it change from 1965 to 2019... from a village
to a small city but it has never been an ugly experience just a part of the journey.

San Felipe is a gateway to Baja for many people.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I do not think San Felipe is known for its sunsets over the ocean --

My teenagers think it is full of "desert rats." Ppl who come down for a quick weekend, to ride and party. Not real Baja.

This has come up before, but I will repeat myself. I have never spent more than one night at a time around San Felipe, but if there was a reason or a
good opportunity occurs to spend a couple of weeks there, I am sure I would find things to like!
It would sure beat rainy season in NorCal!

If the noise of a city gets to you, just 30 minutes away you can have miles of beach all to yourself (access road is Km. 26 & 4WD, at low tide)!
July 4th weekend 2010 with 'edm1' and Ken Cooke camping with us.

Also a great place to practice riding sand whoops on your dirt bike if you are a good enough rider.

I'm with ehall, the wife and I like the place. We've spent several days at a time there. The sand whoops are some of the hardest I've ridden, or maybe
I wasn't fast enough to get on top of them? Talk about arm pump, first beer I had to drink with a straw because I couldn't hold it!
