Bajaguy
Bajaguy, Terry Callison, lost his life to a medical issue recently. He was a really good person and an asset to those who needed help. He had a rough
exterior but inside he had a big heart.
I first met Terry when he was working as an investigator for the state of Nevada and was the Interpol agent assigned to assist with the search for two
young Nevada men who were missing in Baja. I was hired by the family of the two men to attempt to locate them several years ago and Terry and I met at
Las Rosas Hotel. From that first encounter with Terry I knew we would be life long friends.
Terry and I also worked on a few other missing person investigations in Baja and with his help and direction I know we would have never had gone as
far as we did.
Terry and his lovely wife Lynn decided to build a home at the Baja Country Club and lived there during the winter months and returned to Carson City
for the summer.
I miss him quite a lot and thought maybe you all should know.

thanks for posting this. One really never knows who your allies may be. Terry & I are sooooo different and at opposite ends of the spectrum but
for some reason he respected and loved me & I grew to love him and his whole family. He was the perfect example of how not to judge a book by it's
cover. His nickname was Grumpy but he was a soft hearted, helpful man who was well loved by his family and friends. Miss you man!

So sorry to have lost another Nomad.
Terry was always helpful I thought and we had hoped to meet during one of my research trips. Sadly, I didn't get to his home.

I thought of him often on trips south, as I passed the turn into the Country Club. We exchanged notes online and I appreciated his recommendations and
responses to questions, but never met in person.

He adopted dogs and gave them good homes, Captain from BOLA and Camp Gecko was one of them. 'nuff said.

Also, Terry and Lynn turned us on to Lechuza Winery in Guadalupe which SWMBO and I will be forever grateful. Spent a wonderful afternoon there with
them and then lunched at Finca Altozano.

I met Bajaguy a few years ago at the Hacienda in Mulege. 3 years ago when I was slowly riding north after injuring myself in a motorcycle spill he
was among the first to offer help. It was not needed but much appreciated.

Terry Callison January 26, 1948 – September 4, 2020
Terry Callison peacefully passed away as the sun rose on his beloved Nevada home September 4, 2020. His family was by his side.
Terry was born in Wyandotte, MI to Harry and Antoinette Callison. The family moved to Southern California where he graduated from Chaffey High School
in Upland, California in 1966, followed by a degree in Criminal Justice from Chaffey College.
Terry was a 35-year law enforcement veteran, starting his career with the City of Ontario Police Department and moving to Markleeville, California
where he was a Deputy Sheriff for Alpine County. In 1980 he moved to Nevada and began a long career with the State of Nevada. During his career he
served as the INTERPOL Liaison for the State of Nevada, Commander of the DPS Investigation Division’s Special Investigation Unit, and an instructor
for the POST Academy and DPS Training Division in Carson City. He retired as the Nevada representative to the Rocky Mountain Information Network.
Dedicated to public service, Terry was a veteran of military service including six years active duty and reserve time with the US Air Force and
California Air National Guard as a Security Police Specialist. He spent 15 years active and reserve time with the Nevada Army National Guard and US
Army Reserves as an Intelligence Officer.
He spent many happy years with his wife, family and friends on great adventures. Camping, river rafting, moonlight skiing in the Sierras, whale
watching off the coast of Mexico, entertaining friends at Eagle Lake, and living the good life at his second home in Baja, Mexico. He believed that
good food and good drinks shared with loved ones could cure most ills. He would remind us all to not sweat the small stuff.
Terry is survived by his wife and partner in crime of 34 years Lyn Callison, daughters Keri (Jason) Callison of Nashville, Korrie (Mike) Skibinski of
Denver and granddaughters Adilyn and Mollie Skibinski. His big Italian family, Aunt Pauline, Uncle Joe, beloved cousins and many friends. Retired
TSA/DHS K-9 Meg and Callie the cat.

Terry was always courteous and respectful in our conversations, even though I was sometimes a rude and aggressive poster on Nomad!!! Many U2U's sent
back and forth offering knowledge and help if needed. I wish I would've took him up on his offer to visit him at the Baja Beach Club beer festival.
RIP Bajaguy. You are missed.

Terry was one of the Nomads who reached out to me on U2U when I asked a question about retirement in Baja a few years back. He was very generous with
his advice and eagerly shared his experience. It's unfortunate that we never met.

Natalie Warner befriended Terry about 10 years ago and absolutely loved the man. She spoke very highly of him, about his warmth and hospitality. Terry
and his wife took her on her last trip to Baja. They drove down to Gonzaga and fished for triggerfish along the way.
Both gone now. My condolences to the family.

R.I.P. Terry your departure made me think of another Nomad that was a long time law enforcement officer none other than Bernie Swain. Both of you
