Mood: I'd rather regret the things I've done than regret the things I haven't done.

911 in Baja?

I have heard that if you dial 911 from your American based cell phone that it will go to an emergency line. Naturally you need to have reception but has anyone actually experienced needing to do this? Any difference if you use a Mexican cell phone?

Where does the call go to and are they bilingual?

I have this new fangled watch that has an emergency call feature that gives out your GPS but wondered what happens if you activate it in Baja.

First or close to first hand experience would be helpful.

Peace to all.

They do have 911 but at least in Mulege, they preferred you call direct numbers related to your emergency i.e. ambulance, fire, or police. You might confirm in your area.

911 on your phone works everywhere in Mexico. A recent update.
Use it when you need it.
Not the same as an SOS on your device.
