12 of the 18 people I know who have had Covid-19 have survived... of course I'm sure I don't know about a ton of folks who kept it private and
recovered, or were asymptomatic.
And, two of the deceased I suppose I didn't know personally, but were immediate family members of those I did know who also died.
Of the 6 who passed, only one was under 80 years old.

I think something like 80 % of the deaths are people over 65. So, the odds are pretty good.............oh wait, I just remembered, I'm now 67!!
But, seriously, it has still killed only about 1/10 of 1 per cent of the US population, I believe. About 350,000 out of 330 million? A much lower
percentage, worldwide.
Maybe Stephen Stills' greatest lines, though it was about war, really applies here.....
Find the cost of freedom,

Mother Earth will swallow you,
lay your body down.
There is a cost to pretending this virus does not exist, and not taking SOME precautions. But a total lockdown is/wastoo extreme a cure, IMO.
What's so hard about wearing a mask, washing your hands and keeping your groups small?

I guess I’ll hijack this thread back to the original question. Yes I had it back in late July. I picked up a lady friend in San Diego July 14 and
went on a trip July 20 she started her symptoms of fatigue, slight fever and generally feeling like crap. We quarantined at my home as soon as we
could.
The 24th I started feeling achy body flu like then really bad head aches severe fatigue. It lasted 2 weeks, I lost 15 lbs (The Covid diet) took about
another 2 weeks to get back to normal.
On a scale of 1 to 10 being the worst I would’ve called it about a 6.
November 20, December 20 and February 05, I got blood tests that detected China virus antibodies.

It's killed less than 25K under the age of 55.
The government on all levels has mismanaged this crisis.
I've been to about 15 states since this hit. 6 in the Southeast I will say, that the vast majority do wear masks.

My 75 year old mother who is in the late stages of parkinsons and dementia, and my 95 year old grandmother, both had it in May. 3 days later, my
grandmother was out in her garden picking okra in 100 degree weather.
Both are in the serious age group, and both of underlying conditions, but they both had very minor cases. Very fortunate!

Almost never---- in over 50 years of driving often in Baja I have rarely if ever driven at night, with the exception of in Tijuana on occasion and
when really young and dumb. I see life as a calculated-risk-----take sensible precautions and then go about your business without fear. I HATE
feeling "fear" more than anything. LOL

I don't like driving at night because I like seeing Baja! It is not out of fear... I have dodged cattle and burros on the pavement at night... still
no banditos or chupacabras! Oh, and not one flying saucer, either... and I am really bummed about that!

My granddaughter had covid in Oct. more like a mild case of the reg flu. A friend in Atlanta had it last month and said it was like a really bad case
of the flu. It seems to affect everyone different. If you are old or have breathing problems like asthma you should be careful.
My personal opinion is that if you don't want to take precautions like wearing a mask, washing your hands and social distancing etc then you get what
you deserve, be the tough guy or gal and don't whine when it happens to you.

One friend lost her father to covid. Two seniors in my sisters "in law" family got sick from a Christmas gathering, but so far okay, no
hospitalization needed (my sister and her husband did not attend). A few of my husband's project managers/engineers got sick. One lost taste/smell,
was quite sick but her husband had no symptoms at all. Their (325#) roommate is currently intubated. Our very dear friend's daughter got it from
college a few months back - was very sick 3 weeks and still has lung and fatigue issues. Said she would never want to get it again it was so awful.
I don't want to get it, so I have been physically distancing. While chances are I would be okay, I don't want to risk becoming a "long hauler." I'll
get the shot as soon as it is my turn in line.

A friend here in San Luis Obispo area, 50 year old guy in otherwise good health, contracted covid and spent several days in ICU. Now out of ICU but
still seriously ill.

Do you know (or does he) how he got it or was he not masked in public, etc.?
Curious on how or why some get it and others not, or maybe it is 'not yet'??

My wife was visiting her farther who was in hospice at 101.5. She came home for a medical appointment and stopped by the house on her way back to be
with her father. Two days later she was running a temp of 102 and feeling terrible. She got tested and then called and told us before coming home.
We divided the house so that she could have a bathroom and a bedroom. We passed food through a door and she came later and picked it up. Three days
later she got the positive results. My daughter and her husband were here so we all get tested. None of us got it. After running the fever for 2
weeks she took a hot bath of 106F for about 15 minutes and immediately started feeling better. Your body fights COVID with a fever so if you make the
fever much worse, it seems to fight harder. Dr Wes Youngberg recommends adding 3 degrees to the fever temperature but we added 4. About 2 weeks after
getting out of quarantine she started feeling weak again. She took another hot bath. That seemed to fix here for another 2 weeks and then she did
the bath two evenings in a row. It took a total of 6 weeks or more but she is now doing fine.

My family had it in June. My husband got it from work. He felt pretty bad. My 20 year old son had a slight fever and felt flu-ish for three days. I
would not have known I had it if I had not tested. A bit of good news, we were all three exposed again in December (in separate situations). We
quarantined to be safe but never got it (tested negative twice).

My daughter got it last week in Florida. 8 on her soccer team got it. She is fine.
