seems like with american english there are several terms in common use.
i usually use canopy. but often hear other terms.

Not sure people are going to understand canopy.

More like a portable garage or cover for a truck.

Post a pic of one in the ad.

Canopy is the term commonly used in Canada....and people understand what is meant by the word.

Some folks might think it refers to those little snacks at a party....canape

I suppose it depends on your location, language, and cultural context.

'Camper Shell' in California.... 'Cap' in the south, I think? If you are talking about what goes onto a pickup truck bed to enclose it, usually has windows and a door.
