there is a lot going on with e-motos. electric vehicles in general. every week provides more offerings.
i think the change to electric will happen more quickly than we might imagine.

I see E bikes everywhere here in Carlsbad, outnumbering conventional bikes. No one pedals anymore, especially the kids. We already have a teenage
obesity problem, this will not help.
Although, I do see electric vehicles are the future. I'm looking to test ride a Harley Livewire sometime soon. Not ready to buy, but I bet the
acceleration is awesome. See how it compares to my 1250 Sportster.

What are the pirates going to do without "loud pipes save lives" (which is total BS)..
80% of HD's are still on the road.....the rest made it home ...

Those E-Harleys will probably sell better if they have an optional sound effect system to keep a "Bad Boy" tone! Another accessory could be a built
it shaker to rattle the handlebars and seat when the bike is on, but stopped!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

the e-harley is a odd evolution imo. like they say....performance riders aren't interested in Harleys and Harley riders aren't interested in
performance.
HD is a company in decline. younger riders have little interest in the brand.

Agreed. I've never been attracted to having a "bagger" even though I fit the demographic. I like a more nimble bike like my Sportster, which has
never let me down over 30 years of ownership. No oil leaks and since I built her into a 1250, more than enough performance for an "old fart" like me.
Unfortunately, H-D's focus on baggers, and the imminent end of the Sportster line (already gone from Europe!) does not bode well for the company's
future.

I've got an electric bicycle I bought 2 years ago. If you haven't ridden one be careful lot's of torque. Just ask Simon Cowell, he broke his back

"Real" "dual-sporters" have come to realize suitable bikes are NOT "big bikes". Way too heavy and only KTM has good suspension once dialed in.
For those who haven't yet come to that bit of enlightenment , they will enjoy the paved and hard-packed stuff.....and die trying to get on top of
the sand , loose gravel, and silt 
If one rarely rides any thing more difficult than a good FSR/hard gravel road....go with a big bike cuz they are can carry more crap and are more
comfortable. If one wants to be able to really enjoy "dual-sporting", stay under 701 cc's.
I have a problem with the term "dual sport"....it's a marketing term and not descriptive beyond that. I consider "dual sporting" to be an
attitude....not a bit of machinery.
The whole 700-1300 cc range is a new dilemma for those restricted to choosing just one bike.
My stable applications:
* 450 EXC for trails (anywhere) and Baja;
* 690 R for backroading, double track, rough touring, and Baja
except for toughest single track and long sandy days;
* GS for anything above rough single track (3 trips to Baja on the 1100GS is what got me into dirtbikes in 2001)
