Are all those extra CC's actually any advantage on single track?

yes, IMO. when bogged down on steep ground, sand or mud, cracking the throttle and feeling that torque seemingly to come out of nowhere and start pulling is a wonderful thing.

What will happen when they outlaw gasoline motors? I hope the battery lasts long enough to enjoy the trip! Larry will have plenty of real motorcycles in his stable!

decreased carbon emissions
cleaner world
less noise
more reliable mechanical systems
teeth gnashing by troglodytes

i doubt "they" will "outlaw" them, but certainly govt will use policy and regulation to promote and encourage e-engine technology as it can be so much better than IC engines

and who is "they?" "they" is govt for the people, by the people.

Maybe? But, renamed Ticoma (Tick Coma)! Sucking energy off the grid instead of making its own power. LOL

Huh? What about the petroleum sucked from the ground to make gasoline?
Did you miss high school physics and chemistry?

Both use chemical reactions to produce kinetic and electric energy. One oxidizes and the other is an ion transfer.

Just imagine rock-crawling in a rig where you have immense amounts of torque available at near zero RPM. I think the potential is very interesting.

truth be told just last week the all-electric volkswagen looked pretty impressive in the NORRA 1000! they got a ways to go but hey its a start!

I missed that, how did they charge it?

I'm dreaming of a ride I can drive silently on electric for 8 hours out into the sticks, park it for the night in the middle of nowhere and tell it to switch over to its hydrogen fuel cell and charge up the batteries while I sleep.
:light:

well it wasn't easy but they pulled it off:D

Larry, I hope to catch up with you in November for a couple of days. I'll give a shout when I know the days for sure and see if you are available.

To me the big game changer is the Rekluse clutch, makes any bike a bream to ride when you are tired or lazy. I still hammer my KTM 500 down the highway for several hundred miles at a time so I like the CC'S. if I was doing single track only I would have a KTM 300 two smoke for sure.

Awesome looking ride as always..

The auto clutch Ed has in his ktm 500 . He loves it two things I don't like. Down hill no engine braking at slow speed. Can't bump start it if battery dead other then that . It's great yes on riding moto off road truck sxs all good.
