Baja 400 road closure?
I just found out the SCORE Baja 400 is running this Saturday. Will this mean HWY south from Ensenada will be closed in places? Also curious about the
area around Eréndira?
I obviously don't want to get run down by a trophy truck at 80mph

All the on road sections are speed zones of either 37 or 60 MPH. There may be a few road crossings that will be manned with flaggers to stop traffic
when a race car is coming across.

They don't normally close the highway however they may at a hwy crossing where the race vehicles are crossing over. A race vehicle on the highway is
limited to 60 mph max. Use caution when you see a race vehicle.

Use caution
During the hours of the race perhaps more concerning will be the chase crews who are often "racing" to meet their race car. These crews, unlike the
race vehicles, may not pay attention to the speed limits and are the more dangerous vehicles you'll encounter on the highways. Give them wide berth,
watch in your mirrors closely; you really need to pay attention.

What John M said is very true. So if you are not ready to compete with the race traffic then stay away.
This crazy traffic starts when prerunning begins and is worst during the race, For several days after the race then the traffic with these people
still goes on.
Plan your trip to avoid is the best plan.

A couple of years ago, I watched some of the race traffic pass by from the safety of "Cafe Esquisito" at the Maranatha campground. The finish line
that year was at the Walmart lot, just a few miles down the road from there.
They were not traveling at their max speed levels, but a couple of them were certainly faster than the existing traffic on that stretch, and were
using the shoulders and oncoming traffic lanes to pass anyone who might cause them to use their brakes!
FWIW, in preparation for the race traffic, Walmart decided to remove all the toilet seats in their restrooms!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Yup, I've seen some crazy high-speed chase vehicle, crew vehicle driving, even going north a day or two after a race. Motorheads.
