BCN container port and retirement resort rumors

Folks in the Puerto Santo Tomas/La Bocana and Colonet areas are convinced that Punta China has been selected as the new deep water container port. According to them, there has already been an agreement to allocate costs among the Mexican federal and state governments and U.S. interests, and a road is planned that will run near the coast from Punta China up to Ensenada (with a bridge to go over the canyon at Bahia Soledad), perhaps to hook up with the new rail line to the U.S. They say there were articles on this in January-February of this year, including in the Mexicali paper. Anyone got any further info?

I was also told that a huge new retirement community has already been approved for somewhere around the Punta San Jose area, and that it will have an airstrip, lots of houses, golf, the whole nine yards. This was the first I'd heard about this as well. Anyone know anything more?
