The Score Jackets and Baja 1000 banner (and old AAA highlighted Baja map) are cute to make one think this is in 1982 Baja!

"Included in his legal battle with PBS was his involvement with the production of Ken Burns' The Civil War

In 1999, he prevailed in a bitter courtroom battle with the Public Broadcasting System over royalties from a home-video deal his media company, Pacific Arts, had struck with PBS. A federal jury awarded him $48 million, concluding the popular purveyor of children’s shows and documentaries had defrauded him.

Nesmith, showing he hadn’t lost his Monkees sense of humor, said afterward: "It’s like catching your grandmother stealing your stereo. You’re glad to get your stereo back, but you’re sad to find out that Grandma’s a thief."

He developed the show which eventually became MTV, an interesting multifaceted guy. I wish he had stayed in the desert longer but happy he was part of it."

Wife and I just watched TimeRider... LOL... Must have been a classic Dive In Theatre film? Several actors seen in films and TV shows since are in this film.

Like the part where he said the AAA Baja map came from an Exxon station!

I liked where he said he was from Canoga Park and mentions tech coming from Silicon Valley. Was surprised to hear the SV reference from 1982.

I was probably in 7th grade in Ohio when the movie came out and never heard of TimeRider.

Now live near Canoga and have done biz in SV for the last 20 years.

His influence on MTV sent me down a rabbit hole reading about that.
