Dual Sport/Dirt Bike Rentals near San Jose del Cabo

Just found this forum, if this is posted in the wrong place, please lmk.

Staying down in San Jose del Cabo for about a week (might venture to other spots last few nights).

I've found off road tours that will set me up with bike/gear/guide which I will do (open to suggestions as well).

Can't find anyone that seems to rent the same bikes/gear that I could take out riding solo. Don't have an idea of how dangerous (beyond the dangers of riding itself) that idea is. But the beaches and nearby mountains are calling me to come explore and say hello. Any suggestions? Know anyone who likes to ride and has an extra bike that I could go with/rent from directly?

Also, suggestions on renting 4x4 vehicles so I can explore to my hearts desire? Newbie to Baja and any websites or specific forum posts anyone is willing to share, I'd love to learn from.

Happy to trade any info/help I can give to anyone I link up with who makes it out to Maui where I live.

Aloha!

As for 4x4 rentals, there are a few places that rent by the hour or day between Cabo San Lucas and Todos Santos. Cactus Tours is one of them. Google.

Plenty of off-road opportunities around.

Plenty safe to ride in Baja. Ask one of the tour companies, I'm sure they will rent you a bike. I know a guy in that area, I will see if I can find his info.

This is where you should start.

The coastal riding above Los Barriles is about the most picturesque in Baja.

It's only an hour and 20 mins from Cabo. Cool little town.

Appears Fab is also a doctor! And the chase person is an EMT! Talk about in good hands.

If I can make a suggestion, after going north on the east cape road, return via the Baja 2000 course starting at San Antonio, assuming it is still passable (can get the track/map on Murdocknav.com). It is semi-tropical and one of the funnest and most scenic rides anywhere on the peninsula.

Fab

Wow, great info. I will talk to them about that return. My son in law is a novice rider, I don't want to sand bag him. Will be able to handle that return route?

Yes, no problem, unless the roads have been hit hard by rain, which I doubt.

As an FYI, the guy in Los Barriles will bring the stuff to you for a fee.

We had him bring a SXS to La Paz. My kids rode it all the way to San Evaristo and back. He met us on the road that goes up the coast. His mechanic rode in my truck just in case.

Yep, that's the guy I was trying to remember. I met him several years ago on a ride, we crossed paths several times. One of the guys with us wrecked and blew out his ridding pants. The next morning Fab turned up with a set that fit and wouldn't take a dollar for them.

I contacted Fab, he said the route was very doable for my novice son in law, so thanks very much for the advice, we are excited to do the ride.

Let us know how it works out. It would be nice to get some feedback on his services and if you would recommend him to others.

We had a great ride with ridebaja, fabricio Berrettos company. An all day ride through the back hills, Down to Cabo Pulmo for lunch at Las Palapas, then back along Camino Cabo Este to a turnoff back into the hills ending with a tricky single track.
Eric is a great guide, Fab runs a great business. My son-in-law may be a ringer, he was a lot better than he let on!

Awesome to know, I know a lot of people that would love to do the same ride. We are going to work with them on providing chase service from Tecate to Cabo in a couple of years with our SXS'S.

Austin took stills, I may get them at some point. I took mostly video, and have some stills. I will try to get them posted, and need to edit my go pro video.
