CBX Border Crossing Expansion

Investor Sam Zell, Mayor Gloria Celebrate Latest Expansion of Cross Border Xpress

The latest expansion doubles the number of agent booths from eight to 16 to permit faster customs processing. It comes amid a major expansion of the Tijuana airport that includes a new wing for international flights opening later this year.

Interesting. How crowded is CBX now? Haven't used it in about 3 years.

I had never waited more than a few minutes before the expansion. Now one time we got into a huge line going into Mexico because we had to check a bag on Volaris...ugh!

It has become VERY popular. Actually, I think it is needlessly crowded. For some reason the escalators are shut down (broken?) and with Covid only individual groups can board the elevators at a time so things can get backed up at times

My niece has used it twice over the peak holiday season (Christmas) and said people were in tears as they missed their flights.
