Sicarios/cartel/mob got their tentacles in everything…

https://abcnews.go.com/International/wireStory/us-suspends-m...

US suspends Mexican avocado imports on eve of Super Bowl
The U.S. government has suspended imports of Mexican avocados after a U.S. plant safety inspector in Mexico received a threat.

Uncertain if the avocado situation is cartel demanding protection money, or cartel requiring growers to sell to cartel-owned middle men or importers.

And in BCS, the mob now controls many (most?) of the fishing coops seafood sales, forcing coops to sell only to mobsters, under threat of violence.

Are many of those yummy fish and veggies you see in Usa supermarkets cartel products?

Sad!

Woke!

Report a situation at your own peril. It is alarming to see how fast these shakedowns are spreading from drugs and human trafficking to normal commerce.

Just disconcerting that the remote rural fishing coops I am familiar with were free of mobsters pre-covid, and in 2021 all changed — threats of violence now rule.

Wow, how awful and mostly, how short sighted of the cartels to threaten an avo facility inspector. Did they think that would go over well? A complete ban is the right thing to do, or the cycle will never end.

cartels have infiltrated most every industry in mexico. are you going to ban all mexican products from usa?
if mexico wants to get rid of cartel (in every business sector of mexico), then mexicans need to do it themselves.

of course, it does not help much that so many gringos in usa are in business with cartel, ranging from casual drug users to large usa importers that pretend to be blind to their own business relationships with cartel-owned businesses

Not that I doubt the Cartel presence / actions in many locations and industries, but could you please list these rural fishing coop locations you have personally seen their effects. I spend a bit of time fishing in semi remote areas where there are fishing operations and I would like to avoid locations where "threats of violence rule". Gracias.

Witch rural remote fishing coops are you familiar with. Do you go to these places or know anyone living there or are you just repeating stuff you've heard.

In my short time on this forum, I now believe that the Goat doesn't respond to civil and openminded questions and discussions. I might well be incorrect on my take. Maybe if I use derogatory statements and pick a keyboard fight an answer will come. Please prove me wrong, its good for my ego.

Interesting article in the NYTimes… your yummy guacamole is made with blood.

In Mexico, One Cartel Is Cleared, but Others Storm In
In the state of Michoacán, small drug cartels compete with larger ones for territory, leaving the residents caught in the middle of a brutal turf war.

https://www.nytimes.com/2022/05/04/world/americas/mexico-car...

When will Mexican military clean house in Baja’s fishing industry? Someday? never? Has amlo and military just given up?

How observant you are for being on this board for such a short time. GOAT is our Mexican expert want-a-be. He has his very progressive view on life and heavens to Bettsy, you have a different view or opinion than he has. He will not debate just start his belittling routine against you. If you do have a different opinion, you better not post it cuz his true inner-soul will come out against you with vile name calling not just your but others within your family group. It's no fun being called a racist, bigot, fat, short, idiot, i.e, just because you differ from his views.

JZ is now his target along with his supporters. After 4-5 years of trying to add a conservative perspective to this board I gave up. GOAT will say otherwise. Once he and JJJ starting doxing my family and calling them nasty names I had enough and no longer offer my views or opinions. You can see by my number of post I was once an active participant to this board. I'm just a fisherman from San Diego who would often fish the waters from my boat from the border to Cabo and post these adventures.

GOAT is a fake keyboard troll who to the best of my knowledge has never been to Mexico. Don't waste your time trying to get proof out of him that he has. His enjoyment in life is belittling people who have the nerve to post an opinion or thought that differs from his own. I had to laugh once when he called me a fascist. I said to just look in the mirror if you want to see a "true blooded fascist" who wants to control this board with his views and chase off others that differ.

I still enjoy this board looking for the few fishing adventures and other travel places in Mexico.
