Towing from Puertocitos? Broke down...

I'm broke down in Puertocitos and need to find someone who can tow us to San Felipe. Anyone have any suggestions on reaching a tow truck from San Felipe?

I suggest asking on the San Felipe Facebook pages. Right now, the Score race has everyone's attention. I hope you get a tow. Do see if there is a local mechanic. They do remarkable repairs, sometimes!

The other two I read are private groups, so you would need to join before posting:

Finally, there is a Puertecitos page (it is public): https://www.facebook.com/groups/400767196648940

You can probably Google up a few options in san Felipe, and maybe even easier to find on Facebook.

Ask around in puertocitos, locals (non-gringos) may point you to a few options.

Perhaps a a racer with a flatbed trailer can move it.

Go to Las Palmas market in Puertecitos. It’s on the main road into town, one of the first buildings on the left, big and blue. Sochi speaks great English and is your best option for help. She owns the store and is the one behind the counter 99.99% of the time

Where are you staying?

Most insurance includes towing. Call and ask them.

Pay someone to take you to SF. Drive around SF to find a tow service, it shouldn't be hard. Ride back with the tow truck.

You can have it in SF in a few hours.

What a colossal waste of time! Skip the driving around to hunt for a tow truck. Use FB or Google to find a towing company, and then use a phone to call the towing company :light::light::light::light:

Wow. One might think from the level of drama here that some logistical challenges of epic proportions are at work.
This NOT by any definition a big problem to solve.

I see trucks towed into San Felipe all the time. Almost always by a worn out piece of to small rope. Occasionally by a strap or chain.

The only tow truck I ever see in town is at the welding shop. There may be another one north of town but if so I don't recall where.

No self respecting local would spend money on a tow truck.

Thanks for the advice and help.

For future reference.... I was able to call using Wifi at the market in Puertocitos and had these guys come get me. $350 for a tow on Saturday during the Baja 250. +52-686-577-2021. Mando from Calexico will pick up in San Felipe or Mexicali. +1 760-562-8508
