Panga rates in Loreto
I have not been to Loreto in years and was thinking about going there.
Can anyone tell me what the going rate is for a panga nowadays?
Also I remember that there use to be a restaurant devoted to making chocolate clams every which way you can. Is that place still open? Are the clams
seasonal or available year round?

Not sure about the Cortez side, but on the Pacific side the rule of thumb is don’t eat clams in months without an “r” in them, ie, May, June,
etc.
Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......

I hear that advice even up in Alaskan waters, but I have gathered razor clams in Jurly, and Argust without getting sick!
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!

Are you talking about Vista Al Mar AKA The Clam Shack? It is located on the highway approximately 5-7 miles south of Loreto. It is right on the sand
specializing in clams. I always go for the stuffed clams and one of these days I will broaden my horizons and get it fixed another way.
Tommy A has around the correct pricing. You will also need to purchase license and park wrist band. Both easily accessible at the office next to the
ramp.

250 plus tip…500 pesos/boat is about minimum…is the going rate for half day. More for fishing, long trips, extra services; the first two charged
by company, the last translates to higher tip. Park passes and fishing permits (if needed)

I've always paid 1800 pesos to go our to Isla Coronado. 3-4 hours sight-seeing and swimming.

That’s per person in a shared panga I believe. If not, it’s a heck of a deal.

Not per person. Per panga. Usually 4 of us, plus maybe my dog.
Has been that price for 5+ years. About 2,300 pesos to go out to the bay on Isla Carmen.
Last trip was 6 months ago, so maybe a little higher now.
