SCORE 2023 Schedule. Baja 1000 reverses direction!

That's right, for the first time, the Baja 1000 will start in La Paz and finish in Ensenada... 1,100 estimated miles.

How far in advance of the race do they post the intended route? I have been in La Paz for a couple of finish line events, a starting event is likely to be even more madness!

The race map usually is posted a month before the race... A big race like the 1000 may see the map a bit sooner. The route ideas are discussed among race teams on Facebook or other media even sooner.

That's a good idea. I'll be in BCS. Maybe I'll pick a spot not too far from La Paz to camp out and watch the cars go by.

Punta Conejo, although usually crowded, is a nice place to camp and watch.

Yeah, that would work. I've surfed there a couple of times..........in the previous century.

By turning my laptop upside down, I was able to discover that the map is last year's route.

This year it is a loop run, starting and finishing in Ensenada. I think it is very probable that next year's 2023 route from La Paz heading north, will be different along some sections of the racecourse.

This is going to be interesting. Running the Baja 1000 in reverse is going to require some pretty good mirrors. :wow:
