I currently own a Teryx side by side that I use at my place on the near east cape. It does the job for what I need but it is noisy and hauling gas out
from town is a pain. Neighbors have old Manx and similar vehicles and they also do the job as long as their owners are willing and able to tinker with
them on a regular basis.
This Manx 2.0 looks like the kind of thing I have been dreaming of for years. Capable in the sand, quiet running, easy to rack surfboards or even my
surfski, plenty of range for my usage and I could charge it up from my solar system in the garage. I just hope they don't want $40,000 for it.
No b-tchin\' in the Baja.

RZR pro r 4 priced at 41,000$ I think they will cost more than 40. They do look fun though!

There was no mention of what the price point is likely to be, but I am sure that it will be way above any of the older SUVs that I have been driving
to Baja!
It will be interesting to see just where the batteries are mounted, and how vulnerable they will be to the elements and road hazards.
When I was buying fuel a bulk plant this week, a flatbed with an older Tesla onboard was at the other pump. The owner of the Tesla high-centered on
an ornamental rock bordering his own driveway, and the cost of replacing it may exceed the value of the vehicle.
At least it did not short out and burn!

I wonder what the weight difference is between an e-Manx and the old-style VW Manx?
Batteries weigh a ton and I think being heavy works against off-roadability, especially on really rough roads and sand.
But, I bet old VW bug engines are becoming really scarce.

Yeah but I seldom see them on the road when I'm in Mex. Old bugs might be a good investment; i.e., one that will appreciate with time. I've always
thought they're cool cars, soooooo basic.

In 1971 I bought a 1966 Bug (1300 cc) for $450 and turned it into a Manx type buggy. It had some minor body damage, but was probably as good as this

1500lb for the 20kwh 1650 1650lb for the 40kwh.....original/knock off of the past around 13-1400lb

From what I can find online, it looks like 2003 was the last year the Bug was made in Mexico and Brazil. The engine was still being used in the van
until 2006, so parts are probably still in the supply chain.

Like old Chevy trucks, old VWs have a huge after market for parts.

My first car, in high school, was a 1600cc VW Meyers Manx, modified with a roof and rack for Baja camping and side curtains to fully enclose for bad
weather. Here it is, on a Easter vacation Baja trip (1975) with a friend... on the road to El Mármol...
