More on SJD to La Paz drive in Sept Place to eat?
Am I to assume its just take a chance on someplace to eat along the way or should we wait until La Paz?

Are you planning for breakfast, lunch or dinner? Most of the restaurants in Los Barriles are closed until early October, but a few remain open.
Since its only 2 1/2 hr drive, I'd wait until La Paz. You'll have many more options.

San Bartolo has restaurants with typical fare, burritos, tamale, empanada, frijol, cafe or bebida and other treats right n the side of the road.

Not going to Todos Santos so San Bartolo might work out if nothing shows in Los Barriles
I think we start around 2 PM from SJD
Many decades ago we just stopped at many roadside road kill taco stands. I guess we were braver then
Did do one in SQ 8 years ago right next to the real big tire shop on the west side of the road in town.
Mom and Pop tent set up he cooks she serves. Best damn tacos I'd had on the trip. Tip was way bigger than the meal cost. It was only there for lunch
and she kept the place as clean as a whistle the entire time we were there.

We ate at a palapa roofed cantina in Los Barriles in July with Baja Tripper... back in 2012. So, maybe not all places close in the summer? I think it

El Mesón de Carlota in El Triunfo was good the last time we were there. See the location and reviews at the link below.

Agree El triunfo is good place to eat, nice town to wander around. Cafe El triunfo has a nice outdoor patio space.

This is a pretty short drive cabo to la paz. I think you need to step out of your comfort zone, stop asking questions, and just wing it,… stop when
hungry, eat whenever/wherever, drive w/o a map, live with randomness.
