Yes RIP. She was the longest running Monarch in England's history. Something like 70 years, maybe more.

Oddly enough, my students this morning are quite interested in her passing. I did remind them we were no longer colonists.

She'd probably be amused.

Unless she’s been to Baja, she’ll never be my queen. All jokes aside, Rest In Peace.

Being a former colony and so many here having English DNA, we feel a strong connection to the 'motherland'... and who doesn't like fish and chips?

She was a BajaNomad! In Eye of The Whale, author Dick Russell tells the story of Queen Elizabeth visiting San Ignacio Lagoon to go whale watching.

according to wikipedia, queen elezabeth visited Baja in Feb 1983, and her stops included Acapulco, Lázaro Cárdenas, Puerto Vallarta, La Paz.

Here is an account of her visit to La Paz: https://www.upi.com/Archives/1983/02/22/Queen-receives-warm-...
she was sailing on her yacht on the way to California

Here is a bunch of photos of her visit to la paz... https://www.culcobcs.com/cultura-entretenimiento/espias-tras...
and
https://www.culcobcs.com/educacion-y-sociedad/la-reina-isabe...

I suppose the visit to Laguna San Ignacio occurred during this 1983 trip.
