One night overnight parking in camper near San Felipe?
We're headed south on hwy 5 this weekend and plan to stopover near SF to eat/sleep in our camper/van. Not looking to "camp" or stay in RV "resort" and
pay $50+ to sleep in our vehicle.
Free not required - but reasonably cheap. Prefer north of town.
Any ideas/suggestions? TIA

My buddy has stayed the night at San Felipe Brewing. Shoot them a message and ask if it's ok if park for night if you eat/drink there.

Ther are camping campos on the beach to pull in for the night... I show some on my map (with their km. marker).
The one north of the map is called Playa Grande km. 173.5 (1.9 miles in)
Then:
Pete's Camp km. 177.5 (1.1 mi in) fancy little RV beach spaces and a dirt camping area inland
Los Compadres km. 180+ (0.9 mi in) palapas
Pai Pai Campo km. 181.5+ (0.9 mi in) no palapas
Playa del Sol km. 183 (1.1 mi in) palapas

If you find yourself in town, up until recently, may have changed, was Victors, next
to Cortez Motel, 4 blks. so. of the Malecon in town.
Just a parking spot, $10 dlls. No guarantee

You can stay in my front yard for free if you want. 3/4 mile west of the highway in El Ejido, north of town, nice and quiet out here and a couple
eateries and a store out on the highway.

No worries - It'll work out as usual.
We'll need to top-off our fuel in SF - any preferred station? Or any we should avoid? Plan to stop at first one we see.

I vote for going to the second station. It is at Km. 184 and run by the ejido.
The first is just north of Km. 179 and run by El Dorado Ranch.
The third is after passing the arches and at Km. 190+ (ARCO).
The fourth and fifth are at the traffic circle at Km. 191. One is on the left the other is on the right, past the road going south.
The sixth (Chevron) is on the road heading south from the traffic circle.
There are no kilometer markers for the next 10 kms (6+ miles) until you turn left off from the road going on to the airport. This is Km. 0 for the
drive south to Hwy. 1 (about 120 miles).
The next gas station is in Puertecitos (Km. 74.5 + a side road drive in to town), but is is rarely open.
One more gas station is at San Luis Gonzaga Bay, Km. 147. It was a Pemex for almost 20 years but I think it was converting to a 76 or Arco station?

The station at Gonzaga was one of the most expensive I used on my recent trip. It was 26 pesos/liter last week for 87 octane, which was all they had.
If you are not living on the edge, you are taking up too much space!
