Magnitude 6.1 Earthquake Shakes Mexico's Baja California
A magnitude 6.1 earthquake shook Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula early Friday, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
The U.S. Geological Survey said the epicenter was in the Gulf of California about 50 miles south-southwest of Bahia de Kino. The earthquake occurred
at a depth of 6.2 miles and struck around 3 a.m. local time. The area was more than 400 miles south of the U.S.-Mexico Border near San Diego.
The Baja California Sur state civil defense agency said that despite an initial tsunami alert issued by the Mexican Navy, there was no notable
variation in sea level.
Civil defense in the state of Sonora, on the other side of the gulf, also said there were no initial reports of damage, but the quake was felt in
coastal communities.

I did not consciously feel it but I did wake up at the exact time of the quake. Other folks here in Asuncion have commented that they felt it.

Interesting, I was in San Ignacio sleeping at that time but didn't feel it.
In that pre-Google Earth and social media epoch, The Code was adhered to. It was based on a simple verity: if a locale had been transformational for
you, and you had put the hard yards in to get there and to learn it, to know it, why in god�s name would you broadcast the news, thus ruining the
future experience not only for yourself, but for future adventurers?

It was felt strong in San Ignacio and reported shaking in Vizcaino and even in Guerrero Negro. There were many replicas too....tick tick tick
