BA to La Bocana - Abreojos - San Ignacio


Any word on the road conditions on this route?



Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......

I asked on my facebook and Shari answered that it was scraped after the storm and was OK.

Edit to add that I have not heard about any problems between La Bocana and Abrea but I can double check on that too.

Thanks Harald, I’ll be taking down a group of volunteers for our La Paz Clinic and didn’t want to run into any unforeseeable problems.

Now that the road is good, I have 3 trucks coming from Abreojos today to visit...I will have a road report tomorrow!
It only took us an hour from La Bocana to Asuncion!!!

Thanks Shari, that is good to know. I have driven that road when it was smooth sailing, and also when it was the washboard from hell!

the road is great and they said it took them half an hour from La Bocanita to San Hipolito! but that was with Andy Grider driving!!!

It used to take us an hour and 20 min from la bocana to asuncion, but Les is a muy fast driver!

Not too recent, but it was as pretty rough this past spring (March). Road was as so washboarded I shook loose a tail light on my Jimmy one ton truck! Don’t know after the latest hurricane hit. Maybe Shari can weigh in.

Shari came in from another group, and confirmed it was a very long journey recently, with three new "lakes" requiring detours. Got the details I needed. Sounds like it needs a little longer before it is ready to go...
