German restaurant La Paz

This is a second hand review but am posting in intiretyY'all,

There's a new German restaurant on the north end of the Malecon in the same block as Aramce's Boutique that deserves some support, else we'll lose it. Ginger and I had dinner there last night and it was one of the better restaurant meals we've had on the Baja, ever.

We had the 'plate for two,' an enormous platter of food (more than we could eat, we doggy-bagged the rest) which included a Black Forest ham appetizer, Schnitzel, three kinds of wurst, French fries, noodles with cheese and onions, red cabbage, sauerkraut with carraway seeds and salad. I'm still stuffed this morning. Apparently, they're making their own wurst, baking their own bread and smoking the ham themselves, and those items are available by custom-order.

We bumped into Wolfe and Inge and friends while there. Wolfe says their Beef Roullade is excellent and next time we'll try that. Wolfe is in love with Inge's cooking, and to see him in any restaurant at all -- let alone complimenting it -- is a remarkable event.

Prices are very reasonable considering the quality and quantity, almost all the entrees are under a hundred pesos. The couple (and I think it's their daughter) who run it are from Munich. And the name of the place (don't ask me why) is the Hally Gally. Pass the word.

Best regards .

Sounds GREAT! Ask them if they make sweine haxe (pronounced shvine-a hock-sa), a crispy grilled pork knuckle, served with mashed potato, sauerkraut and brown sauce - yummy! You just pull the meat from the bone with your fork - if prepared properly it should just fall off the bone into the brown sauce... outstanding!

The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you are made of NOT the circumstance.
