Lidia?
It appears that Tropical Storm Lidia is going to make a close approach to Baja over the next few days before crashing into the mainland as a
hurricane. Right now it seems the biggest impact will be rough surf, but it's definitely worth watching.

According to the Gringo Gazette, La Paz and Cabo received a small amount of rain from one of Lidia's outer bands.

Yes, Lidia brought some rain and caused some damage, floods, buildings collapsed, drains broke and sewage ran into the Bay. Reported in BCS Noticias.
Still raining until Tuesday early morning.

Okay, yes, I've lived along the frontage of La Paz, with sewage drains, and yes al the water runs down all the streets until it overflows the drains
there and comes shooting up and out, and floods into the bay. But this time the discoloration looked a lot worse in the area of the Marina La Paz.
Perhaps there was a specific issue in Fidepaz and Posada that made it worse this time, though the heavy tides and flow do dissipate discoloration
quickly. There was no noticeable discoloration problem in other regions like La Ventana and Los Barriles when I passed along the water front. Would be
nice to collect the water and reuse it? At least the plants are happy.

Collect the water and reeuse it? You don't collect flood water- its full of dangerous bacteria- that's how people get cholera and typhoid. You can't
tell if water is polluted from its "discoloration". Clear-looking water can be teeming with bacteria, and discolored water can be perfectly safe to
drink.

Obviously the runoff water needs to be treated, there are many many engineers working here in La Paz to try to find a way to collect, treat and reuse
runoff and we do have a large water treatment system that reuses water for farming near the airport.
The majority of current dams built around BCS are most often just dams with no treatment nor connections, that feeds the water back into the water
table.
Globally, there are many many different systems in use, perhaps we'll discover one that works here, since we are at capacity, many have bno water
coming to their houses and yet, construction continues of thousands of homes. The region of Punta Arena near Muertos has over 100,000-150,000 lotes
surveyed for sale with roads, power poles coming in, and yet no water?

IMPLAN which is the Instituto de Municipio de Planeacion is currently completing their recommendations for Development in the region of BCS, we are in
the final 60 days comment period. Please feel to review the documents and comment if you live here.
If you read the documents in relation to a chart of lots, there are over 250,000 lots over 1000 sq meters each, some much larger, that are targeted
for homes, condos hotels, apartments in the region of Los Planes to Ensenada Muertos. The development would be a larger population in total than the
region of La Paz.
Yet there isn't sufficient water in the water table nor infrastructure for Water or Electricity or Sewage or Cell Towers or Fiber or Roads or Banks,
Food, Medical, Fire, Police Emergency services etc?

Larger waves than normal breaking in the bay in Bahía Asunción the last few days, maybe a wraparound swell?
Two dirt roads diverged in Baja and I, I took the one less graveled by......
