fixer/ guide in Mexicali?
I am looking for someone to show me around, introduce me to some locals and translate for journalistic/ photo project in Mexicali.
Can anyone one recommend somebody? 2-3 days in December, paid.

I thought most traveling journalists hire a local journalist as a fixer. You might try reaching out to a local journalist for local support.

I met a lieutenant in the Mexicali police. He tried to drive his Cherokee across the empty (low tide) lagoon, onto Shell Island (20 years ago). We
pulled him out just as the incoming tide was reaching his doors.
Well, he told me that if I ever got into a problem in his city, just ask for Lieutenant Miranda! How easy was that to remember! I hope he is a Captain
of Chief now!!

You see, most or nearly all of us go to Baja California to get away from cities and civilization. Baja is a cure for civilization... at least the
majority of the peninsula, which lays between the border cities and the Cape region.
Cities are fine if that's your thing, and Baja's cities offer much (great food, for one)... Mexicali is just a border city most Nomads want to get
through without incident. Don't be angry with us. There are many Facebook Groups about Baja, try there. TalkBaja comes to mind...

Oh, I'm not angry - let's say amused by the infantile population on here with nothing better to do. What a dud forum. I probably know Baja as well or
better than any of you guys, just not Mexicali.
