I think I originally limited the file attachment size to 50kb... and have expanded it over time. If left unlimited, then users upload mega-sized
files... which causes page load time issues (affecting user experience)... and higher storage size requirements on the server.
And yes, one of the factors along the way was the % of people attempting to access the site with slow connection speeds in Mexico... not so much USA
and Canada. fwiw.

I think what most here who are challenged with the process would like is something that automatically sizes and displays photos in the manner that
Facebook does.
Frequently photos are so large (well over 800 pixels) that you need to trim them so the text and photo doesn't require scrolling to the right.
It would make life easier for you, too.
In any case, thank you for 24 years of this forum!!

I can easily resize my photos on my computer. My complaint is having to upload them to a third party site and then download them to this site.

Doug seems to think you don't, but unless the file size is reduced to 400 something, it won't work. Only if the photos are on another website can they
be any file size. Just make sure the physical width in pixels is 800 or less so as to not stretch the Nomad page.

You don't have to, maybe you just don't understand how to properly resize your images before you try to upload them here.
Does your easy resizing program allow you to control the jpg compression level? If not, it's crippled and you're missing out.

Getting back to the original topic, this article in today's Barnstable-Hyannis Patch predicts a busy El Niño season, possibly featuring a few major hurricanes in the Atlantic.
