There are some pretty amazing quotes in this article
We can all hope that the eternal optimism of Mexico is not a recipe for disaster.

That seems really reckless. When I got back from my 8-day trip to Todos Santos last month, I wished that I was still there, but now I'm not so sure!

AMLO sounds like IMpotus did a short time ago on this matter. Idiotic.

Its all rainbows and unicorns. Nothing to see here. Move along.

Here is a blog post from an expat living in Ensenada. His tone is somewhat alarmist, but in my opinion it's with good reason.

That article is actually from the Federalist.

I see that the blogger threw in a link to The Federalist article between the photo and the beginning of the text. It would have been better had he explicitly stated that the article was lifted verbatim from the article. Better yet, he could have just provided the link and nothing else. Just my two pesos.

if the disease spreads thru mexico like wildfire, then trump will take glee in closing the border. He loves to mess with the border, his ignorant xenophobic base eats it up, and if disease is the pretext for closure, then trump will win the PR war with MSNBC

Here is an article from El Vigia describing a recent event attended by thousands of people. So yes, AMLO does seem to believe that at least he is immune. On the other hand, this article confirms a positive covid-19 test in Tijuana, meaning that AMLO's apparent immunity doesn't extend to all Mexicans. :(

There are many people that just won't and/or can't come to terms with negativity.
So they always think that "everything's " going to be alright ...

And as much as i'd love to think the same, I am a realist and know that it ain't "always" going to be alright.

My motto, "hope for the best but prepare for the worst"

Since I've given up all hope, I feel much better

We all know Trump created this virus, and personally spread it around the world. Thankfully we have highly educated, open minded people like AMLO to refute the lethality of the epidemic, and blissfully ignore it for us. What a great guy.
