the dorado bite is "wide open" here at mulege

our neighbor went out yesterday and
limited out in just a couple of hours

he brought over a nice "bull" and
we're having a bbq today for lunch

he went straight out from the point of the bay

Why am I never ready??? Don't answer...I suck.

mulegemichael - 5-20-2009 at 03:52 PM

richard...all i've heard is good things about the fishing at mulege right now...a buddy of mine had double hookups on marlin today and sails were jumping everywhere!....is this normal????....seems a little off the board to me...water temp already up to/over 80 degrees???...wow...i will be there a week from today, not early enough to fish the derby, but....and a BIG butt, but, etc....we will be bringing down a veritable corpiconia,(what's that word???), of raffle prizes for said tourney....so...you don't have to catch a fish to win in this gig!!...you'll get something!..it's cold and wet up here..ewww!

Russ - 5-20-2009 at 05:07 PM

It doesn't rain in Sequim. It's in the "banana belt". Do you know the McDermits? They've been there a long time.

rpleger - 5-23-2009 at 07:22 AM

Cypress - 5-23-2009 at 02:58 PM

Yea! The fish are jumping in the boat.:lol: Wondering what excuse will be thrown out there for the lack of fish when the fishermen return to the dock. Weather? Nets?:?:

Casa-rhea - 5-23-2009 at 03:58 PM

A big Yes! the dorado are here along with the marlin.!!Went out today about 8am,from the bay of conception, first hit at 9:30am..Watched marlin jumping, whales breaching, brought in 3 big dorado..It was a wonderful day!!!

Thank you for your support Cypress ... ;D

Cypress - 5-24-2009 at 04:48 AM

rpleger, You're welcome.:D Will try to be less negative regarding the Sea of Cortez fishing. Don't really have any experience with the pelagic species anyway, they seem to be doing OK.:D It's the local reef species that are in major trouble.

How about pics Richard?

i'd love to see some of the faces i know.

i know Mi Mujer and John but who's boat is Marlin Azul?

bajaumpaw - 5-31-2009 at 09:24 AM

I think that the boat "Marlin Azul" is owned by Marlin Larsen. He is from Roseberg, Oregon and lives part time in Muleje.

capt. mike - 5-31-2009 at 12:25 PM

that's what i figured, i know Marlin well, he knows how to get on fish.

We done some flying together too. he'll probably head north for cooler WX before i get south this summer on my fishing trip.

Bob and Susan - 5-31-2009 at 02:53 PM

i talked to mateo today...

the winners are from naranjos next door...
