Well, there goes my irrigation business!

Since I will be 'in house' for a couple days, are there any requests or shall I keep doing what I have been doing (ie. posting more classic photos, maps, etc.)?

Mexitron - 10-26-2004 at 08:09 PM

Me too David K!! Can't believe this much rain this early in the season......I've got office work to catch up on though. Nothing comes to mind for posting except keeping up the good work!

I wouldn't take my prediction with a grain of salt, but from the satellite images in Ventura it looks like most of the storm will miss San Diego, likely even less rain further south.

David K - 10-26-2004 at 08:54 PM

Mike, here in San Diego County they have flash flood predictions for this storm. That satellite image is just one arm of this cyclone... As of 8:53pm it is dry here, but the wind is blowing and there is a big ring around the moon.

One another subject, close to your life, congratulations on the Cassini arriving in Titan space... This moon of Saturn is bigger than the planets Mercury or Pluto, and has an atmosphere!

A word of warning to all who are planning a trip INTO the States:

Don't take the border road!

My request is to keep posting these great pictures, David !! Thank you.

On the 11 P.M. news last night, the weather pattern had changed, drawing the storm further south. Any damage (other than leaky roofs)?

Dave - 10-27-2004 at 08:56 AM

It's raining pretty good here south of Rosarito. Just waiting for the power to go o

Yep

jrbaja - 10-27-2004 at 08:57 AM

When we get this kind of storm down here, there is always a lot of damage and sometimes deaths. Reason being is the folks in the hills get washed away by flashfloods.
The problems here are from what comes from the hills in the arroyos.
If you look between the tipped over chairs in the picture, yesterday that was a cute little bluff area where we used to sit around the fire ring. Not anymore !

Gringo expropriation has begun. If I were you I would move the car.

When I saw this topic I thought it was about another tequila tasting contest!

Be careful out there!

Mexitron - 10-27-2004 at 10:39 AM

3 and-a-half inches of rain in Irvine last night, and apparently more on the way.....almost 10 inches for the month of October!

Rained pretty heavy here in Playas, i say the intensity of the rain and wind was more powerful than the past storm, but it was shorter in duration, i am glad the bulk of the storm passed in the wee hours of the morning.

No damage here that i can see.

Are you close to brianhead?

Baja Bernie - 10-27-2004 at 07:15 PM

The storm passing San Diego is a joke---I now have an apartment where one bedroom is now a nice swimming pool. At least in Baja the water usually goes somewhere after it hits the ground. Way too much water.

How close is close

Sonora Wind - 10-27-2004 at 07:56 PM

Bajapablo I can leave the house at 5am and be at GIANT STEPS before the chair starts. Not quite ski in ski out, but good enough for the girls I go with.
