I think it is way to risky and not worth the possible consequences.

If you do it you better hide it real well and don't light up while driving cause if you are not familiar with where the check points are you are likely come up on one at the wrong moment and that would be really bad.

Some folks....I hear..... that drive it have stashes at key places along the route for convinience. You might want to consider this approach if you find some and might be driving down again in the future.

Just curious. I don't want to test the water on this one.

The guys at the checkpoints probably do not read the LA Times. The guys at the checkpoints would probably give a hard time to a pothead from LA.

Early 80s in San Felipe a young boy walked up to us offering for sale a baggie full of something leafy and green. As we declined, a police car pulled up to the scene. Because the Americanos were not interested the police took the baggie back from the boy, thanked him and sent him on his way. Just thought I'd share that as one can never be too careful.

Regarding the plan to stash your stash along the way, that puts a whole new spin on geocaching!

Mexico is not Amsterdam. You must be new to international travel, cops and jails.

I can't even imagine anyone asking this question!

There is some in the little pumphouse behind Diaz's rooms in BOLA, it's five years old and you are welcome to it, if you can get past the spiders.

Hey, I'm a Newbie. It was an honest question and I got some honest answers.

Put it in the peanut butter jar, don't pet the dope dogs, don't smoke on the road unless you know where the checkpoint's are, bring enough to share, and don't stop in the Declaration lane. Do I have that right?

Didn't read former Pres. Fox's turnaround, anyway.

Guess I'll have to leave my medical doob's behind?

Regards,

Shari is right..go to the fisherman. Go to the Saturday night c-ckfights. Bet on a few. Don't be stingy, but don't through money around, either. Pretty soon, they'll get over a P-nche gringo in their midst, and you'll make a few friends. Before you know it, you're toking and knocking back a few with the local constabulary - their treat!

Now that's how to make friends for life!

Funny thing;

When I crossed back over into the US last time, I had my two yellow labs in the back of the pick-up. The guys at the ag inspection had a yellow lab also. When I asked if the dogs was for explosives or drugs they didn't specify.

They held the dog back from my truck as another officer went through my refrig for illegal veggies. When I asked "why no dog search ?" they said that the dog was near useless with our dogs around.
Now there's an interesting little tidbit !

If you need to get high that bad, I would risk it. Maybe some time in a Mexican jail will calm your urges.

Maybe you need to have a toke and calm down.

I did try it once but didn't exhale.

Ag inspection;

Heading back to the US at Tecate, you pull up to the booth on the US side and when they ask if you have any fruit or produce, and you say "Heck, I don't know what my wife left back there." That is when they have you pull around the tight corner and park for an agricultural inspection on the US side. They took lettuce, avocados and citrus.
Actually, I think I remember having to do the same type of inpsection when we crossed at TJ 2 years ago. Not knowing exactly what veggies they are restricting, we always offer for them to look, rather than get nailed for importing the all-feared, "restricted" produce.

Since my Name was brought into this "Fray", I will respond, though I still feel that Monica could have picked a much better Person{ A Man of Character instead of a Wimp}!
Being an "Ole Timer"-Not an Old Fogy- I would suggest the following:

If you find a need to get "High", try the following:
Go out to the Airport at Elsinore and do a couple of "Free Falls".
Go up to Bishop Calif. get a Glider Ride over the Sierras.
Get a Job as a Policeman-request Duty in East LA/South Central.
Join the Natl. Ski Patrol-Go to Mammouth- Help the Injured- After Skiing the "Cornice". Stop in at the "Hot Minerals Baths-Go Skinny Dipping with your Ski Patrol Buddies/Ladies!
Go to Loreto-Buy a Panga-Go out 35 Miles to the Reef- Fantastic Fishing!
Come to Texas- Become a "Bull Rider-Compete in the Local Rodeos.

You will then not have any "Need" to take DOPE to Baja.!!!!!

Last but the most important- Join a Local Church of your Choice_ More people go to Church on a Weekend than go to those so-called Movies that are Produced by the most Physical, Mental Degenerate People in the World, who control the LA Times!

If you must take DOPE to Baja, place it in a Condom,, tie Tightly, place in a Jar of Peanut Butter, take a Black Lab with you and hope like Hell that you do not get Caught.
