Here is a pretty good thread/civil debate on legalization that took place on this board back in 2002.

It might be worth a read to some folks.

I'm shoulder to shoulder with you Sharks. Tobacco kills WAAAAY more Americans than all the street drugs put together. Alcohol had something to do with at least half of the cases that got people sent to prison. Now if I just had a dollar for every time I've seen an off duty cop with a cigarette in one hand and a beer in the other.......

Uh-Oh

Once again, we've somehow veered off all-things-Baja onto all-things-soapbox. I know, I know, you hate the president. I get it, the war on drugs is stupid. File Under: 100 Things Overhead At The Coffeeshop.

ok, ok, there is a little saying I like to say from time to time, he who is without sin shall cast the first stone? Something like that. Guilty! (once upon a time)

Lee, legit question, sorry for the hassle, now lets bring up some religion or politics and really see the forum freak out!

Huh?

Bajamatic, are you talking about produce? Because if you are, maybe you SHOULD panic. Recent FDA studies suggest organic fruits and vegetables contain unsafe amounts of both ITES and BULAI, known carcinogens. Furthermore, studies have found a conclusive link between organically grown kale and foot cancer.

So perhaps it's panic time INDEED.

Now, about Baja...I am super into it. Who's with me?

The crime wave in baja that affects all of us traveling and living down there is a direct result of failed drug policies. Lets keep politics and the president out of it and just discuss policy. Think we can have a respectful discussion on those terms.

Thanks sharks...it was one of the most respectful debates I ever saw on this board.

In San Ignaico this morning they caught three teens smoking pot. They made all parents come to the school and after took the kids that were caught and parents to La Paz. They made a big deal out of it and I wouldnt want to be the one that gave those kids the pot!

We all want a peaceful world, filled with love and laughter, but we fill ourselves with anger and hate trying to fiqure out how to achive it.

I meant 'Liberal' in the classic sense. But I don't think GW, Dick and the rest of 'the boys' would understand.

So....I guess now I'm in real trouble. ;-)

Maybe I could just tell 'em I'm an alcoholic and was diddled by my parish priest.

Better quit that ALCOHOL! Apparently it will turn you into a homosexual, rabidly antisemitic, pedophilic, hoar-mongering, reckless-driving, wife-beating, larcenous, bribe-taking, car-shooting, secretary-drowning, rapist with halitosis. All through no fault of your own, of course.

Sharks:
The only one who has the Power to "Control their Desires and Keep Their Passions within Due Bounds" is that person who "Excerises his/her "Free Will and Accord!!!
Beer is Big in Texas
Hard Liquor is Big Everywhere
Dope is Big Everywhere
Prisons are Full-Calif. and Texas the Largest Populations.
Most Criminals are there because of their DOPE Use--FACT!!!!
More Drug Users as Criminals than Liquor Drug Users--FACTS!!

If someone's Mind is so weak that it is necessary for them to use DOPE, there has to be a Reason for that Weakness-Birth-Rearing-Enviorment of the Home and Parents- Schools- O'Leary's Teachings- Sales of DOPE Equipt.
Lack of Responsibility-

For a challenge to You:
What is the realationship to DOPE users/ Church Going Christians/Mormons/Catholics etc??

Seems as if there is a Division Hollywood/Religious People.
Personally I will take the Religious Side- I worked Hollywood for Three Years.
I prefer a Good Shot of Tequila/Glass of Red Wine/or a Carte Blanca
