Probably because of the summer heat down there. This stuff really expands when warm.
It's a good idea to keep propane tanks out of the sun all day. Even the stationary type. It really peees off the neighborhood when they release preasure and gas through the valve when the gas expands.

They'll fill my tank to 90%.

45 Kilo. Not 35. I've never seen a 35 Kilo tank [assuming they're properly filled] and the trucks here, and I'll bet in Mulege as well, exchange 45 Kilo tanks.
When you get your first one from the driver, you buy it......that is, if he has one for sale. Then, you just put it into the exchange system. Whichever tank you have at the end of the day, you own.
Buying a new tank at, say, Home Depot is another way to go. It's shiney new and clean, but unless you want to hassle taking it in to be refilled, it's gone with the first exchange.

45.....not 35. Did I mention that?

You got me Dennis, 45 it is, Bob messed me up on the Kilo size, yes 45 not 35. We have 45's in our area (also known as Mexican Tall Boys), get them filled on Saturday mornings (if your around to hear him race by your casa with a single honk) or haul them to town when going for lunch and other supplies.

to fill a 1500 ltr tank
that's 396 gallons
filled 3/4th full
that's 300 gallons

if 35 liter tank cost 300 pesos
which is about 7.96 gallons
they will fill this tank 3/4th full
5.97 gallons

300/5.97=50 pesos a gallon

50x300= 15,000 pesos

12.5 to the dollar

15,000/12.5=$1200 dollars

thats about right
WOW!!!

edit...someone should check my math...i'm wrong alot:lol:

I don't think it's the math. It's calling a 35KG tank a 35LT tank that messed you up. How many LTs in a KG?, heck if I know.:P
