Yes, Neal was just that... a class act!
I thank him a lot for steering me to get a Tacoma instead of a Ranger, back in 2000... but a whole lot of other Nomads (well 'Amigos de Baja' then)
also loved their Toyotas!

Who was 'jrbaja' most of his time on Nomad... Photo of him with Bob H posted in this thread. His avatar when he re-registered as 'Ski Baja' (2003
& 2004) was a photo of him in the snow, in Baja.

I remember Mike Humpfreville well. One of the greatest story tellers and writers in Baja history!

just could never figure out what he meant by

He meant that it would (likely) be picked up by some enterprising individual(s) who would recycle it. Maybe.

I lived with JR Baja for a short time on his `bamboo ranch`in San Bartolo.
Every morning driving to Los Barriles to the Internet cafe to have coffee and to have computer service. I always told him don`t drink that water out
of the hose of your well. The well was drilled right next to the grasing cattle in the next property. Those cattle frequently broke into his property
to enjoy the little bamboo sprouts. Cattle and a well for drinking water do not match when too close. The groundwater was damn sure polluted. The
picture Bob H posted on page 1 showing JR, is certainly also showing his "Bamboo-Rack-Pick-up" he was famous for. @David K: Do you miss him?

Yes, indeed... I had great visits with JR at his and Carol's La Barca home near Rosarito. I have to laugh about how he used to put down people who
lived in gated communities, and he lived in one... We had fun comparing book purchases too. On Nomad, he would play the bad guy and pick fights with
me, chicken coop stuff and all that. In person, not at all that way!
Here's a photo of JR and I eating and chatting in front of his place. Photo was taken by Doug (Baja Nomad) at the Antonio (Baja Cactus) meet up at
JR's in 2004.
