Have had Telnor and Prodigy for 2-3 years and have been reasonably happy with it. Dial up speed was OK but then about this time last year it kept going down. They then changed the equipment and I now have Progidy Aire. This has been great! Only down once since
Sept. (for a hour or so) and connect speed great. My non technical evaluation it equals or beats DirecWay satallite.
This said, I think it's only available (Aire) where Telnor has the ?radio phone system? No wired lines. Just a tower and a small receiver on a pole - telephone & everything else same as wired. (Internet works independent of the telephone.

Telnor

I had Nothing but problems with Telnor! Sounds to me like this has not changed a Geart deal, tho since new equipment seems better! I got sick & tired of it being down or being cut off all day most days. Yes, I'm sure Prodigy Airre is faster than Direcway satellite, BUT Satellite there all the time!! I have never been off in over a Year for more and about 2 seconds!
So I would at this point not go back to Telnor! I even took out my Telnor phone!
Some of my neighbors could not get on most of the day yesterday to get thier email or send it!!
i had NO problem!!

Hi Meme

DirecWay is great no question - and the speed is very close - but if your neighbors used the same mail service you do they would have got their's yesterday also. The internet service was up - just the Telnor Email down. I got all my other - Yahoo, Earthlink, etc. with no problems. Both good systems here now.
