I haven't walked across at San Ysidro in over a year but I used to once or twice a month. Always crossed north at the east (old) pedestrian crossing which is still in operation.

At that time a handicapped person could walk to the front of the line where the rotating gate is before the building. There were always US guards there that would let the handicapped person enter the building way to the left and walk up to the booth reserved for bus passengers. The last booth on the left.

I would bet it's still the same but I don't know.

Same here, a year ago. After that gate the line went to the right and into the really old customs building, the one with tiles - not straight as before. From the rotating gates and on, it was a joint line of Sentri-holders, obvious handicapped/seniors, and people from the regular line. It was rather dense, cutting through those last 50-60 people would be difficult. Besides, many people at this point were same seniors.

I prefer taking Greyhound bus South but find walking North more convenient than waiting for a bus.
