Anyone have experience looking around this area?
Can see a few tracks on GE and thinking it may make for some good exploring. Has anyone poked around the area in yellow in the photo (N / NW of BLA)?
Anything you can share if you have?

Once... spent 2+ days in there. Camped near Bahía Guadalupe and at Punta Candelero. Many years ago. Many others have been in there.
Roads are on my maps and the new Baja Atlas from Benchmark.
Road is at Km. 38. 13.5 miles north is a T junction. To the right is Bahía Guadalupe in 9.8 more miles. To the left is Punta Candelero in 19.6 miles
from the junction. A colorful canyon is driven in getting to Candelero.

This was the area of interest to Erle Stanley Gardner in his 1961 book, Hovering Over Baja. He wanted to get to the palms he saw in the canyons below.

I have done all the trails in the area
easy - beautiful - great beaches
however, the northern most beach is rocky
Bahia Guadalupe and Playa Alcatraz are great
if you can't find a track/road - make your own
the crossing over to arroyo La Botica is still a challenge
but has been done by several explorers now
well defined tracks on sat

David, it's been awhile since I posted here but I couldn't help but remembering BdLA, Yubay and Neal Johns. We explored the area in our oversized
(both Neal's camper and my motorhome) vehicles but never got to the beach.
Anyway, I see Neal's last post was 2014; has anyone heard from him?

Hello Art... we were just talking about you (and with photos) here: http://forums.bajanomad.com/viewthread.php?tid=96671 (you can reply about the dual tire set-up you employ and tire pressure question, too).
I am saddened to report that the great desert explorer and aridologist, Neal Johns, passed away in December 2019. We went to his memorial the
following February (a month before Covid may have prevented that gathering).

thanks for the response.
I am very sorry having missed to pay my last respects for John. He was very kind to keep me company for an extended time during a time my motorhome
had serious mechanical problems in Baja. In another life, I hope.
I'll be sure to read through the thread you provided and respond.
