Suffering from CRS makes this board challenging!!!!!!Like, a restaurant somewhere south of Mulege that is a palapa, that was featured in Gormet Magazine several years ago. Still operating? We had coconut shrimp to die for. Operator was very friendly. Then a restaurant downtown across from the plaza with bar on left, and an open backyard patio with tons of plants. So so meals. Then years ago, the restaurant that we felt was a "must stop" everytime in passing through or staying overnight had a small hotel at the back. Was on a corner, and a parrot that would wander around climbing the chairs and biting you on the butt on occation. An inside bar & restaurant also with fireplace that I can remember was a welcome experience in the January cold weather times. And I seem to remember I think a restaurant down at the beach that was pretty decent eating some years ago. And wasn't there years ago, an El Nido???What happened to it to close down, as the one in Loreto is very busy most of the time. Was it same owners, Pompano? Any attempts to reopen it in the past or present? Love the little taco stand just off the eastern plaza on the right. Inside seating. Great pork taco's. Hmmmm. Getting hungry just thinking of those pleasant times in Mulege.

Ray has a simple menu of usually about 5 things?mostly seafood but always a rib or steak thing too. Frequently he has a saut?ed calamari con ajo that is to just die for. This dish is my benchmark dish that I use to judge all restaurants?.hands down Ray?s. Ambiance is a shell floor/palma place but very clean and gussied-up. Just one time was the shrimp over-cooked?.the usual sin of the Mexican restaurants everywhere. Dinners are between $900- 1,300 and always comes with a huge salad and chips. Killer margaritas. Maybe a bit pricy for some but see 4 yourself?.a great value I think because the consistency of the varied dinners always seems to be there.

Rays isn't as good as he used to be since he lost his cook scotty to the Pelican Reef restaurant . also his hours are real Funny every time we go down there he is closed.
