The elevated railroad ramp shown in Gadget's photo in the 'Where is this' thread that curves to the terminal platform has been added to the list of 'Miscl. Baja' location, as 'Las Flores Railroad, south end'

Bump for La Turquesa searchers!

Go to the third group of locations (Miscl. Baja Places) and click on Las Arrastras... zoom out a bit and scroll north to the road heading southwest then west into La Turquesa Canyon (3 miles north of Las Arrastras)... follow it just over 2 miles to the Green Pools, and further to the mine diggings on the north side of the canyon.

Continue west to the face of the mountain and see the old road coming down to the arroyo, from Hwy. 1.

Punta Trinidad brought back many memories - what a trip, six punctures. That was the trip Shari saved our butts in Guerrero Negro from the evil jefe de policia . .

It's on all the Baja maps except Google. How DO they decide what points to name? El Tomale - named on the map close to us - is a long-abandoned ranch of no significance whatever, according to the locals.

You know Diane, first this personal issue stuff really is better suited to U2U... But, since you have been picking on me ever since we didn't meet you... I apologized as we were under Shari's wing and she didn't take us to where-ever you were...

I NEVER have told a Nomad he/she was "wrong"... I often posted other info or details to ADD to information provided (it is a 'forum' afterall), but not to look like some budda or guru... that is your interpretation of my enthusiasm for sharing trip details... just like any travel writer.

The spelling is ONLY Baja place names, in the name of education... I am a lousy speller of English words, anyway!

Now, you may want to continue this picking on me if it makes you feel good about yourself, but why not spare all the people here looking for travel help or just interesting photos and details, and U2U me your problems so that we can get beyond them and be cordial.

I don't dislike you one bit... I love your photos and trip reports... I am sorry this got off to the wrong road... How about friendship instead of the noise?

You know, this is one of the most endearing and revealing characteristics of yours. Making friends is what I want to do here... So, in the case of those who don't know me personally but think this guy (ie. me) can't know so much, so he is BS-ing us and they throw insults as counter measure... I first defend myself... then I try to make a friendship from the misunderstanding. That's all it is, as I have not tried to upset anyone... only post my thoughts and information. Not to say some people don't like what I have to say about something, but there is no need to make it personal.

Unfortunately, some people get more pleasure in keeping up the hate and have no interest in being friendly... It would be refreshing if this childish stuff ended so we can just share the Baja stuff.

Hi David - I'll duck all the sniper fire and simply say that Rancho la Aguja is supposedly named after a small conical hill up the road (the hill is also called Cerro Blanco, which is much more appropriate).

I just discovered that I can cruise up the coast from Todos Santos at 150 feet in my private jet - Google is amazing ...
