As you can see, moving 2500 miles to the West didn't cramp his style much. I'm pretty sure he's about to make a move....
Cool photo.

You were correct! The database was set to have a max of
32,767 views. I've changed the setting to allow a max now of 8,388,607.
The reply counter should max at 32,767. I'll check.
Edit:
Reply counter works fine.

Bruce, JR's brother. Thanks for the posts. JR was one interesting fellow. Please keep them coming.
I understand that there was a memorial for JR just after Christmas. For purely selfish reasons, I feel a bit disappointed over the timing. I was
under the impression that it was going to be help after the new year. I wanted to try and set up a fund to support some of JR's favorite causes, and
the memorial would have been a great place to start. I understand you are having problems using the pm function here, and my posting abilities are
subject to the proprietors whims. Is there any way you could post your e-mail addy so I can contact you?

polloatician - sorry about your not being notified of the memorial service. Carol and I did our best to both notify everyone we could think of, and
to find a date that was convenient for a majority. Due to the limitations on the space and facilities available to us (Carol's place @ La Barca and
the parking lot in front) we decided not to make a general announcement on the Nomads board. As it turned out, the friends and relatives maxed us
out. Even worse, I didn't even think about trying to take pictures. Hopefully, some of the attendees did take some pics and might feel like posting
them here.

Bruce, I was notified about the memorial just prior to it, but had prior plans. I'm sure JR would forgive me and my wife. I will send you an e-mail
and explain what I have in mind regarding some sort of memorial fund.
I will except your apology when you understand how badly you have placed your foot in your mouth

Bruce, I found this picture of JR and me at Lake Isabella, Circa 1985. Hope you don?t mind that I post it and the story. Keep the history coming.
Love it. Dave
In the fall of 1985 my wife and I drove up the coast then cut across to spend some time in Yosemite. JR and his wife were camping at Lake Isabella
so on our way home we met up with them and camped for a few days. JR had his Zodiac boat with him and he and I decided to go out fishing late one
afternoon. We headed for the far side of the lake but it got dark pretty quick and we were a little buzzed. (a lot buzzed) We could see the lights
of the campground in the distance and headed in that direction. Not one to waste time, JR had the throttle wide open when we hit a sand bar. We flew
out of that boat a good 20 yards screaming the whole way. We splashed down in about 2 feet of water and just sat there and laughed.Bruce R Leech - 2-21-2006 at 04:24 PM

J.R. and I have always been treated like family members from most of the Valdespinos. It's the weekend winers that have caused most of the trouble and
everyone was warned well in advance. The G. Gazette never gets the true story. Yes Dave, I'm still good here. ThanksBOLABOUND - 2-27-2006 at 08:46 PM

There will never be another JR... He was a complicated man and one hell-of-a great guy. You had to meet him in person to really know his genuine
personality. I cannot expound on this any more - you would just have to spend some time with JR to realize what a wonderful human being he really
was. He is greatly missed!

Whoa....take a year off from Nomads and JR's gone.....sorry to hear....my condolences and rest in........Baja.
