Mexican beer and LIMES?

Hey Motoged and Dennis,
You guys are right and I was wrong about the alkalinity of beer.

I originally wrote that limes squeezed into a beer would offset and reduce the bitter taste of beer (which I said was due to the "basicity" of the ethanol alcohol). Well, as you guys correctly pointed out, beer is mostly acidic already (pH around 4.2 to 6.2). While pure ethanol is about a pH of 7.33 and is in fact slightly alkaline, ethanol only makes up about 5% of the beer, the rest is water and other items, the mixture of which renders beer on the acidic side of the pH scale.

I stand corrected. As a Catholic, I will say 6 Hail Marys and drink 6 Modelo Negros ... with lime ... to show my humility and sincerity as I beg for forgiveness.
